I'm feeling a little mislead by the title, because in no way do you imply, conclude or explain how there will be price stability. I was looking forward to some evidence to refute, at least Wink

In all seriousness though, there cannot be any expectation of reasonable volatility until at least all of the coin generation has taken place. This certainly will not be the end of price volatility, but the current dynamic nature of our coin supply is of course going to cause at least minimal volatility. Then, of course as more people get involved and adopt bitcoin there is going to fluctuations from that as well. This is not even to mention the volatility from simple use-cases being developed or acknowledged and market manipulation. The list goes on and on; I would not expect any sort of price stability for many years to come. For now, enjoy the ride upwards and onward.

The bitcoin market most not be stable for profit and losses to occur. The fluctuations are what leads to the gains etc.

However, I understand in another way what OP is trying to come up with, I think he is not thinking a total stable market or stagnant market but a more reduced volatility.

No doubt last weekend was disastrous for BTC it dropped to $7697 on Friday
Undoubtedly, last weekend was a disaster for the BTC because of falling prices

I always get a smile on my face when people are talking about Bitcoin dropping to "only" this number and that number. I would suggest trying to look at bitcoin in a longer time frame than the last 30-days. We have ups and downs, but the trend is obvious for anyone that is looking for it. HODL seems to be the safest, most consistent way to stake your claim the profits being snagged. I wouldn't consider it disastrous, I would consider it a great time to buy some more coin.

Why do we need a stable market?
We earn more when the market is unstable.

We need a stable market if we ever want bitcoin to be taken seriously as a currency instead of just a trading/investment opportunity. I'm assuming this is the goal of most people here, although I came presume to know your motivations; would you prefer if bitcoin never becomes stable?

The possibility to earn more is only possible if you are privy to when the market is going to make movement and when it is going to happen as well; not everybody is keen to that knowledge, believe it or not.

Don't be so optimistic, we are far away from seeing stable prices.
This market will remain unstable for years.
And if you are a real investor or trader, you have to pray each day to see prices going up and down every minute.

There has never been price stability in crypto, this is the most volatile market by nature and I don't expect this will happen anytime soon. On the contrary, we shall keep seeing large swings. You should know that if you are in crypto.

Remember when Wall Street said they would "tame this beat" and people almost immediately saw Bitcoin price became much more stable than before? Well, I guess that didn't last!

Stability of price is impossible for a decentralized currency but stability of value is an assurance for legit coin projects. When stability of value is said it means the coin or token or any digital currency will always have an value even if it drops tremendously. In my own opinion a stable price of any currency should last for a long time not just weeks or months like what is happening to crypto currencies.

If you will study and learn more about cryptocurrency could know the characteristics and nature of it. It is digital currency which is the price changed rapidly ,so i don't think it will become stable. And the investors and traders do a lot of profit and losses because of being volatile of each currency. If it become stable i think no one will invest in crypto because they can't make more profit.

after a hot conversation, digital money made by Satoshi Nakamoto this year until early this year recorded a very wild and unexpected price movements. in the near future, BITCOIN can create enormous "PROFITS AND LOSSES". we as a market player or an investor very much expect price stability.
what do you think?

You think the current loss is not enough for us to stop the trades and expect for better spikes in the prices. Im sure this dip and the two day before's dip is enough for this wildest movements. I think its time to move on for BITCOIN and all the crypto currencies in the market. This digital money is not moving unless and until we see some good and virtually real developments in the world of crypto currency. If there are not much developments in the blockchain itself then we can not do about it anything. Artificial pump might happen but that is too just for the sake of big investors and according to their will. The prices stability for the bitcoin is already getting very disturbed with external and internal factors of the market. It could be local to international political stress that can affect the price stability. Nothing can be done against such forces.

Like what kind of stability are we talking about here? Crypto market is the most unpredictable that I know. Even the experts could not rely on their own analysis.

I think cryptocurrencies will maintain their stable performance and take a slice of other assets such as equities, bonds, legal tender and other precious metals. Investors can make a bold attempt to do this, and lasted several years.

one main fact about bitcoin is that it is still being adopted. and that means a lot of people come in and invest in bitcoin. a great number of them are newbies which make weak hands who make irrational decisions. so they cause big volatility.
on top of that bitcoin market is still pretty small and that increases this volatility even further. we can not expect stability for a very long time, as long as this is the market we have. we need a lot more adoption and a lot bigger market for that.

The instability of cryptocurrency's price is what makes it unique and attract investors. If it has a stable value then no ine will invest on it. The demand and supply from the users makes it volatile and better to keep it that way, as long as we get involved with crypto we contribute to the movement of the value.

This guy gets it.  Wink

To the person calling BTC a "disaster" this weekend, it's back up to 9300. So yeah it lost around 10%, but it could easily break the 10k ceiling by the end of the weekend. Just HODL.

But now it's going down again. These short term predictions don't help the market if they are quickly proved wrong.

totally volatile currency. Regulations and futures are killing bitcoin. Technology itself needs improvements/upgrades. Institutions and the heavy investor will want to lower the price as much as possible and then pump it up to around $23–24k minimum. We won't see any price stability in February for sure.

We all know that the price of bitcoin is not stable at times it is getting lower sometimes high. I do not think the price of bitcoin will be stable because there is no net control and the price of bitcoin i think it depends on the demand of investors and traders and one its probably the popularity.

The price stability could happen in the near future, it's too early to have a stable market in the nowadays. There are still many uneducated people in the cryptocurrencies scene. I believe in the future when Bitcoin is already boringly well-understood as financial assets, the price will stabilize.

Having a stable value with the coins would be impossible. This is one of the tricky characteristics of cryptocurrency, it's unpredictable. The more you engage yourself, the more you will be able to predict what will eventually happen. It's risky, but that's how it is.

Well it is awesome and nice if there is a price or value stability but i do not think that Bitcoin price or value will become stable now a days because the demands of people using Bitcoin changes everyday. Maybe in the upcoming 2-5 years there is a chance that Bitcoin will become stable. Lets just hope that it will happen. It will give benefits to its investor and user if that happens.

Price stability is far from happening as long as new-comers in crypto see bitcoin as an easy way to get rich. Most of the time, they are the ones who buy at ATH and panic sell when there are signs of a bear market, driving the prices down—this continues as a cycle which obviously results in price volatility.
