no idea what the problem is now........

was hashing away at around 97% all day yesterday, this morning it's at 5%.

I reset everything and powered back up, now hashing between 70-80%

??Possible Problems or Causes of Problems??

I'm using a salvaged PSU from an old tower, 300w PSU powering 1 blade.

I have 2 high CFM case fans providing air flow to the heatsink which hardly even gets warm...NOT hot at all compared to the USB version.

I balanced and set voltage to overclock from 1.05 to 1.2v across all 8 adjustment blocks

or, the most likely cause....I'm an idiot with no business behind a PC, let alone mining!!! IF ONLY I had taken up golf instead.......

after typing this help request, the efficiency is currently 98%............. I can't even get my problems to conform!!

Are you using Slush's pool? If so I have the same problem for some reason, and haven't found a solution.

Point it at BTCGuild instead.

Is it just the hashrate reported by the pool that drops, or does the device itself become slower?

I'm currently developing an experimental social AI platform

This is likely not a faulty hardware. I can see the same on my bitfury starterkit on eligius with a difficulty of 32 or 64, dont remember. It drops ans come back while the software still reports full speed. What does cgminer say? (Or whatever softeare you use)

I still have no idea what the problem is/was.

for the last few nights it's hashed all night without dropping off. I didn't change anything, but it's been rock solid lately.

now it's the pc with the usb erupters that won't go all night. I'm certain it's purely a software issue. I upgraded to BFG 3.2 the other day, that's when this issue started. I'm going to drop back down to 3.11 or 3.13 and see if it will run while I'm gone to work today.

it's certainly a learning experience. figuring out the set-up for your particular hardware on these mining programs isn't easy for the noob.

not to mention, they seem to upgrade bi-weekly, changing their parameters just to keep you guessing!!

of course, with another week or two of upgrading, tweeking and maintaining my farm, I'll be an expert setting up and mining with the hardware I have. my expertise will be set to 0 again when my bitfury arrives. I'll master that and begin waiting for cointerra to ship, extending my knowledge further.........
