What is also quite awesome with this is that you can fund your account using PayPal at a good market rate (appears to be around Mt. Gox's best ask price). You, or whomever receives your bitcoin tip, will not be able to withdraw those bitcoins for 45 days after the funding transaction (see http://enabledidler.blogspot.com/2011/01/45-day-rule.html ) however this is one of the first online services that allow funding of a Bitcoin eWallet using a credit card. http://en.bitcoin.it/wiki/Buying_bitcoins

This ROCKS. Congratulations to whoever created this, fantastic job.
The potential is huge.
For example, I just created a "Junket" and sent the link down my Facebook newsfeed.
How else could this be extended? Could a WordPress plugin be developed so that every post on a blog automatically creates a Junket with donation potential? How about for vBulletin posts, SMF posts and every other forum/social content software product?
What about a Firefox and/or Chrome extension that could detect a YouTipIt URL in a video description on YouTube and let's you donate right on the spot?
This is gold Jerry, GOLD!

It seems to be a nice idea but the tough part for them will be to maintain an exchange rates. To me their current rates seem to be way too generous. They obviously give arbitrage opportunities here.

Did you contact them about it? Yes, waiting on a response. Looks like I'm the only one, so not worried.

Hi everyone, I'm one of the founders of YouTipIt. First off, thank you all for the great feedback, keep it coming. And appologies for the quirks and bugs. The reason why some of you weren't getting their confirmation mail is so banal that I'm nearly to ashamed to admit it. But thats fixed now The reason why the bitcoins weren't coming through was twofold: - We initally had configured our backend service to wait for 8 confirmations until we accepted it properly. We've reduced it to one confirmation for the moment. So it should currently take approx. 10 minutes now to get through.. We will be reducing it to 0 confirmations soon though, but put a hold on the Bitcoins until we the reach 8 confirmations.. - The other reason was that we have some stability issues with the bitcoin service. A bit suprising as the service has been running quite stable for the last weeks. But we'll get that one figured out. I'll be adding a monitoring service some time today which will inform us, when the service is down, so that we can respond quicker.. We're currently looking for a plattform to manage feedback and feature request. Something like getsatisfaction would be great. The downside of most of these services is that they require an additional registration, which I always feel is a burden. And they cost real money, which is not one of core competencies.. There's also a thread running on reddit which can be used for feedback: http://www.reddit.com/r/Bitcoin/comments/f5ado/youtipit_bitcoin_based_flattr_like/

I'm concerned about the .01 BTC fee for every tip. If it's not cost-effective to process very small tips, I don't think that this will take off. It would be great if I could send someone a tip of .001 BTC, but the transaction fee would then be ten times the tip!

Tips are appreciated (very tiny tips are perfectly okay!) 13gDRynPfLH3NNAz3nVyU3k3mYVcfeiQuF

Do I understand this correctly? I can register, add funds using PayPal, send those USD funds to someone else, and they can withdraw those funds as Bitcoins (or Mt. Gox USD)?

This site is absolutely fantastic! It's like a dream come true really. In getting started I had a few questions and the responses were nothing short of immediate and unbelievably helpful. AMAZING!!!! You can check out my work at http://www.youtipit.org/t/J3227-1. I'll be spreading the word on this wonderful site every chance I get. I hope you all do the same!
