Gday everyone first time post here and not sure if im in the right spot. But ive freshly built a small mining rig.. and im having a tonne of issues with it..

Specs are
MSI Z270 gaming mother board
8gb ram
I3-7700k 3.9ghz
6x msi gaming radeon rx580 8gb gpu
    4x hymix
    2x Samsung
Windows 10 pro

Running claymore dual miner eth&sia coin
Standard bios (no mod)  i was getting around 100mhs between all gpus...4  of them were around the 17-18mhs and  the other 2 were like the14- 15 mark. Every post ive searched everyone seems to get around 20+ out of the box.. any ideas why mine would be so much lower.

Any how i did multiple different bios mods on each hynix and Samsung and made not that much difference im now  between 115-120mhs

Ive also tweaked msi afterburner and trixx to multiple different setups and setups of other people and makes no difference at all.. and yes i restart the program..
Once it went to 130mhs for one sec and dissapeared..

I dont know what to do to bring it up higher does  anyone have any ideas  or experience with this.. most people i see running 6of these gpus are around the 180mhs mark and id like to be somewhere near that..

Thankyou

How did you mod the bios do you change the values yourself on each card or just find a .rom on the internet for the same model/memory?

I wouldn't be dual mining sia at the moment either since the introduction of the Bitmain A3 just mine Ethereum

Download SMOS or Hive OS and try that instead of windows - see what sort of hashrate you are getting I would be looking at 28-30 as the average for an RX 580.

Best is to make the rig stable with original bios and then working your way to custom bios for a higher hash rate.
Did you add -dcri 18 in your claymore bat file?
-dcri 6 for single coin mining.

-dcri is not in my settings
same as -dcri 18 or 6

Just asking but why would you make it stable with original bios then change it to a modded one anyway

ive flashed a usb twice and i can not get my computer to boot up on it, if i unplug my hdd it just sits in bios

Did you follow all these instructions:

•Install:  etcher.io - flashing tool
•Flash image to any drive:
•After Flashing you will see new drive in windows. Open it
•Edit config.txt, replace email by yours, save and close this file
•If you have problems booting or supporting more than 4 GPUS/:
 1) Make sure you are running the latest BIOS!
 2) Set device to boot from USB/pendrive
 3) Upgrade bios to newest (important !)
 4) Enable 4G encode
 5) Set PCIe support to Auto
 6) Enable onboard graphics to default (PEG - > IDG)
 7) Plug your monitor into the ONBOARD graphics

•Take this drive and boot your rig from it
•System will boot and start making auto-updates.
•Go to simplemining.net Dashboard and login with your email
•Now you should see your rig and you can start managing it
•Go to Rig List -> Miner OPTIONS and set miner config

You have a newish motherboard I wouldn't worry about that.

I would say if you cant boot the USB stick at all then the image you downloaded might be corrupt. Check it again.

Secondly use a different IMG to USB software there's heaps out there. If you are going to try again with ether just google "etcher settings bootable drive" and make sure it matches what you have been doing.

Download Hive OS (https://hiveos.farm) and try that. If you cant boot that either then I'm not sure what it could be - USB stick problem or something? Are you able to boot anything via USB?

First of all, you didn't inform us which driver versions you are using. Which PBE you are using for modified your bios? I suggest using PBE 1.6.2 instead 1.6.6, PBE 1.6.2 will copy strap 1750 to above (more stable based on my experience). And don't forget to use Crimson ReLive Edition Beta for Blockchain Compute driver. And the last thing, patch your driver signature, so the system will recognize your modified bios.

This's Crimson Relive : http://support.amd.com/en-us/kb-articles/Pages/Radeon-Software-Crimson-ReLive-Edition-Beta-for-Blockchain-Compute-Release-Notes.aspx. will fix Dag epoch.

I didn't have experience with the last version of The PBE, so far as I know and based on experience hynix and samsung chips stable with copying 1750 to above. so I suggest to using 1.6.2. you can patch driver signature using atikmdag patcher.

did the driver install and patch and ive gone up to 172m/hs for 6 gpus   one gpu is still very low,  but im pretty happy with that,,  whats the best way to undervolt the cards?  my msi afterburner is not picking up the mv for the card or letting me adjust it

you can under-volt it directly using PBE but too risky need experience on it. if you're using AB make sure activate unlock voltage control on AB general setting. I suggest using AB version 4.

Also activated unlock voltage monitoring then go to AB main directory find MSIAfterbuner, it's CFG file, then open it on a notepad.

1. Find UnofficialOverclockingEULA change it to UnofficialOverclockingEULA = I confirm that I am aware of unofficial overclocking limitations and fully understand that MSI will not provide me any support on it.

2. Find this text UnofficialOverclockingMode change it  to UnofficialOverclockingMode = 1 and save it.

3. Change Registry HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\ControlSet001\Control\Class\{4D36E968-E325-11CE-BFC1-08002BE10318}

4. You need to check all 4 digits folders (0000,0001, and so on.) modifying all that have Enable ULPS by default value data is 1, change it to 0 then reboot your system.
