Apart from the FUDs, why market dropped significantly ?
I think nowadays, more ICOs coming to the market. Several ICOs public sale ends within quicklime. It seems traders are selling BTC & ETH to buy those ICOs. That trend negativey affects to BTC,ETH and other Altcoins. Not only the price, volume also drooped significantly.

I hope market cap will increase again to 600+ when those ICOs coming to the exchanges.

Mmm nope. They not selling their eth or bitcoin to participate in ICO, but they use their bitcoin and eth to participate in those ICOs. And the company who receive fund is smart enough not to sell all their coin at once cause that will make price dropping and bassicaly their loss too.

It's the other way around mate , people need to have bitcoin or ethereum to participate. If you're referring to Big ICO cashing out maybe? Maybe not, but the recent down trend of cryptos are the result of government regulation about crypto currencies and certain ban of bitcoin in some areas.

Exactly what i said earlier, they want to participate in ICOs they need cryptocurrency, and the kind of cryptocurrency accepted in ICO is mostly ethereum and bitcoin.

Apart from the FUDs, why market dropped significantly ?

The main cause is the huge rise during December, which was largely due to newcomers buying into crypto for the first time. The rise was clearly unsustainable and we needed a pullback at some point.
The various bits of bad news during January were enough to trigger the fall. The fall was then much harder than usual because as soon as the price dropped, the newcomers had lost money - I think this caused a lot of panic selling to cut their losses. This caused the prices to dip sharply. And then the experienced traders moved in, taking the opportunity to short their coins and pick up more, which caused prices to drop further.

Just my opinion of course, and unfortunately the newcomers are probably the big victims of the price drop.
I think what we really need now is a period of stability to prepare us for the next rise. I don't want to see a big rise now, as it would likely end with another drop. Gradual rises are often better Smiley

Yes, because Bitcoin BTC and Ethereum ETH are now the two largest and widely used in the market today, as they are both the US Dollar and European Dollar that is currently being circulated around the world as wherever and whatever country you're in - there are US Dollar and Euro available in any markets.
Almost all Cryptocurrency Exchange sites today are trading all Altcoins into Bitcoin and Ethereum so if you invest Altcoins then be sure you have enough Bitcoin or Ethereum in your wallet, otherwise, you need to buy Bitcoin or Ethereum from your Debit or Credit card accounts.

you are wrong, investors do not sell eth and btc but instead they buy eth and btc to buy ico, which causes the price down is btc and eth buyers down and who sell more, and some bad info causes the price to fall, if it happens btc, then all altcoin will drop including eth Cool

Bitcoin and ethereum are more than coins,  they are strong Blockchain platforms for new icos.  So it is obvious that people  invest their eth and btc into icos they believe in.
