I always look at it like this. The technology hasn't changed. It's still the same Bitcoin that people were paying 20000 dollars for less than 2 months ago. Why would I give it up for less than half of that price is it hasn't changed, it hasn't failed in any way.
I believe the market is heavily manipulated but there's nothing we can do to change it. People who are manipulating it are putting millions of dollars on the line to create and spread FUD and later buy cheaper coins.

I was trading in April 2017 just as I am in January 2018, and I find very few similarities between the outlook for bitcoin in these different time periods. The cryptocurrency space today is orders of magnitudes more mature than 2017. What is making me even more bullish is that mainstream speculators still seem to live under some kind of illusion that bitcoin is built on “stone-age technology that has failed to adapt” and avoid investing in bitcoin for this reason. I remain positive that the positive momentum building up around the Lightning Network can eventually serve to recapture some of that capital.
Let me know by the comment below!

Bitcoin is decentralized and no one has the full control over it, but  there is no denying that it can easily manipulated by the whales. Value deoends in how the whale thinks, and maybe there were something being prepared in the bitcoin system. Manipulation happens ever since then, but its now getting more better than before. Surely the coin distribution is becoming equally divided. It would take more timeto really see bitcoin stabiilized and established with a very good price. Just trust the process, bitcoin is on the development.

For real, whales are manipulating the market however they want. This makes a lot of people stay away from crypto... Regulation is key.

Not only in crypto market whales are found. Stock markets does have those people who wants to manipulate it and they can be found everywhere and I guess they are connected with each other. Remember that we've been into a dip last month? the stock market also experienced a bloody sea so this came to my mind but I don't have proof now to support this idea so it's just my opinion.

I think that market manipulation can exist in many small-medium projects. Because there usually several big holders. But when it comes to big projects like bitcoin and ethereum it's much tougher to analyse. So many different players, factors and possibilities. Can USDt been manipulated to pump bitcoin, can, but it's not good idea for the long term for sure for these people. Too much risk to be in jail.

Big whales are influencing the Bitcoin market and they detrmine the price.
Bitcoin technology is not outdated and as you mentioned the lightning network and other improvements helped to solve major problems.
Besides, the majority of Bitcoin users are small traders and can be easily manipulated.

The good thing is the big money is eventually coming! We don't know when or from where, but the fact that we know it is coming is the sole reason I'm not panicking from this huge dip. why so we are worried.

I believe that whales manipulate the price of bitcoins. In my opinion, this is happening on a global scale. If you look at the growing bitcoin price from September to December 2017, you can see that everything started with a fall of more than 60 percent. As a result, bitcoin reached 20 thousand USD.
You believe the bitcoin price will rise again by the end of 2018, just like the 2017 cycle. I do not think there is any reason to believe that bitcoin prices will rise in the future. But according to the predictions of the bitcoin experts, the price will increase to $ 50,000 in 2018. But I think this is a rumor for investors bitcoin peace of mind, help the bitcoin market stable, but they have no basis To say that bitcoin prices will soar.

How would you know for certain that it is coming. If there is a huge wave of government bans across the globe the Wall Street money will never come. They will calculate the risk and put it elsewhere. Of course this is not likely to happen but proves that we can never be sure of anything. A world war could start next month and there would be no more investing. People would be baging their money and building shelters.

The think is that most investors know nothing about bitcoin, except for it's price. If the only thing you see is the price, then you sell when it's going down, and you buy when it's going up. This is just guessing of course, and a lot of users lose money this way. If they actually do some research, and see how BTC is evolving, then they would be aware of the lightning network, and how it will change bitcoin way of use.

Unfortunately that will not happen, so most people will keep reacting to what the price does, and what the news say. Of course the I'm pretty confidant that the big investors know what they are doing, and once bitcoin becomes an option for them (to be used as a form of payment for their business), then a lot of money will start coming into BTC, the uninformed investors will see the price going up, and will buy again.

On January 5th, when Bitcoin prices were at $17,000, at a dark web forum which can be accessed through any anonymous browser (like Tor), a forum member by the name Cyberjourno, says,

“Guys, there are big players in play, big institutional players who want to bring the price down to $7000, I know it seems impossible now but these guys handle the media and know how to control the market. For the coming couple of months, guys, stay safe, don’t be scared. Brace for FUD FUD FUD!”

Investors start to make sales at the point where they see huge profits. We see the same move on all stock exchange platforms. There was a ripple after the gains were made. Now we are approaching the period of continuous and rapid increase again.
The Whales are jumping back in for big profits while all the guys that sold in the panic are now totally broke and can't get back in for even half of what they had in January.  The rich get richer.

“men, there are huge gamers in play, big institutional gamers who want to bring the rate all the way down to $7000, I understand it seems impossible now however those guys cope with the media and understand the way to manipulate the marketplace. For the approaching couple of months, men, stay secure, don’t be scared. Brace for FUD FUD FUD!”

Market manipulations give only burden to us people because for example, if lots of people seems to hold much money/coins in their wallet, then no one will remain buying due to high price but if the market price is manipulated to be lower, these people will immediately sell and other people will buy. There is what we call domino effect which market price is greatly affected. As far as I know, in bitcoin, there doesn't exist such market manipulations, just a matter of trend and trading prices.
