Hey all got a question. I read that people say you should never withdraw btc from a gambling site directly into coinbase. Such as if you have btc in coinbase and want to deposit it into a gambling sites, always use a bitcoin wallet or blockchain right?

Also the opposite holds true such as if you withdraw btc from a gambling site, always, give them your bitcoin wallet address... then you send the btc to coinbase. First off, that is still true right? And when people talk about coinbase banning their accounts, which way is it usually because of? Going from coinbase to gambling site or gambling site to coinbase?

Now i just thought about something else. When i withdraw btc from gambling sites, i would have them send it to my bitcoin wallet etc. Then if i want to send the btc to say an exchange like bittrex, i would then send the btc from my bitcoin wallet to bittrex. Does anyone know if there are any issues if you withdraw btc from a gambling website and the btc address you give them is bittrex or say binance? Or the other way around such as i have btc in bittrex or say binance... i send it directly to a gambling site without using my bitcoin wallet as an intermediary? I ask this because if i could do it that way, well i dont have to wait for the btc to be received on my bitcoin wallet... then it takes a while to send the btc to bittrex or say binance.  Thus not only do i save fees, well i don't have to go from gambling site to my btc wallet and then to bittrex/binance.

As a rule of thumb anywhere with American links should not have anything to do with gambling traceable funds. I've never heard of bittrex caring but they are American and at some point they will start to get uptight about it.

I doubt binance care at all. Either way if you have a simple way of breaking the link then you may as well do it just in case.

Personally, I think this is nonsense. No exchange has ever banned a user for having funds from a gambling site. Firstly, even if the funds came from a known casino's wallet, how could they prove that it was you sending funds to yourself?

There are some addresses blacklisted already for having known stolen funds that only the thief has access to but even then, you'd have to prove that the user was that thief and wasn't some guy who unwittingly bought that stolen bitcoin.

Breaking the link prevents your funds being associated with any service, therefore is advisable. But the only reason you'd want to break the link is simply for privacy. The less your funds can be traced back to build links or associations, the less your online fingerprint can be figured out. That's for your own privacy protection.

There is always a chance that the site will track your payments, and the chance will grow larger as you accumulate more gambling/dice related inputs into your wallet. I've heard people that have gotten their accounts suspended by coinbase because they had received gambling funds from it.

So even though this may not apply to you, and I have definitely tried this myself without any consequences apparently, you should always make sure that either losing your coinbase account won't be an issue, or that you tumble your coins before getting it into coinbase.

I'm not sure about Binance. Usually, you're not going to have a problem. There's that 0.1% chance that you may that you just have to prepare for.

Sending from your wallet won't be an issue though, because you could eb sending to a random address that you got off someone.

Where've you been hiding? Plenty of exchanges will ban you. They're all American and they will do it. Try it through GDAX and see how far you get. It's not sexy but it is a real thing.

I suggest to read terms of service twice, this often can literaly save you.
Many exchanges and other services could easily ban you because of withdrawing money from gambling sites. You could end with account and funds blocked, especialy if it comes to American site.
Try some alternative method like to withdraw on card.

It's in the Coinbase ToS https://www.coinbase.com/legal/user_agreement?locale=en
Quote
Prohibited Use
...
Gambling: Lotteries; bidding fee auctions; sports forecasting or odds making; fantasy sports leagues with cash prizes; internet gaming; contests; sweepstakes; games of chance

Likewise Bittrex https://bittrex.com/Home/Terms
Quote
Use our Services to pay for, support, or otherwise engage in any illegal gambling activities; fraud; money-laundering; or terrorist activities; or other illegal activities;

I have actually used Bittrex to withdraw from a gambling site without any issue but it was only a small amount. I haven't ever heard of anyone having a problem there but there certainly have been at Coinbase.

To be safe use a mixing tumbler like ChipMixer to make sure your funds cannot be traced.

Okay so i know coinbase is the site to not do this on.  But anyone know if bittrex/binance is okay with this?  That way if i withdraw btc from a gambling site, i could have it sent to bittrex/binance so i dont have to receive it to my btc wallet and then send again to bittrex/binance?

Binance is fine as there is nothing in ToS. Read my last post on Bittrex, it's against the ToS but to my knowledge, they don't enforce it. It's up to you if you want to take the risk. Why not just use sites that don't prohibit it?

Thanks for that information on binance.  Do you know if there are issues sending btc from binance to gambling site though?

With bittrex, has anyone here withdrawn btc from gambling site to bittrex and have issues?

I thought I just answered that.

Binance is fine as there is nothing in ToS.

I know few people have time to read Terms of Service before signing up for a service but it is worthwhile doing a quick Ctrl+F 'gambling'. Binance is not US based so doesn't suffer the hangover of its puritanical beginnings.

You should stop and think about why you use services that tell you what you can and can not spend your money on. Satoshi invented Bitcoin to make it possible to transact without the need for a trusted third party. Use a wallet that you alone control.

I have a bitcoin wallet.  The thing is everytime i withdraw btc from a gambling site, i have them send to my btc wallet.  But i then would send the btc to bittrex.  So if the gambling site can send btc directly to bittrex or binance, then i wont have to wait for btc to my btc wallet... then do another transfer of the btc to bittrex/binance.

I've given all the information I can. You'll have to make your own decision if you want to risk Bittrex closing your account for violating their ToS or not.

Although Bittrex added a sports betting coin, they give a clear statement on gambling sites in their TOS:
"Without limiting the generality of the foregoing, you agree that you will not:..........
...
Use our Services to pay for, support, or otherwise engage in any illegal gambling activities; fraud; money-laundering; or terrorist activities; or other illegal activities;....."

https://bittrex.com/Home/Terms
So, when gambling is forbidden in the country of the customer or Bittrex, then Bittrex would ban your account. That could explain the many complaints against Bittrex because of banned accounts/frozen funds.

Although at some cases that anyone hasn't have any problem even by a direct withdrawal from gambling site to exchange, it's still way better to follow TOS. There are some cases already in the past that exchanges (e.g Coinbase and our local exchanger here) closed down an account because of gambling thing. But that was way back over couple of years and as of now I never heard that someone got their account closed due to gambling issues.

I already did some direct withdrawals from gambling site especially on Directbet to Coinbase lots of times. Im not a verified account there and the amount I receiving from Directbet is regular (for let's say 3 to 4 times week) due to their automatic withdrawal when you won a certain bet.

Now want to risk it and try your luck? Your decision.

I think, it would be even not enough to avoid directly depositing from gambling sites. When transactions can be tracked, then customers would maybe also risk their funds.

People in this thread have given you quite some useful advice, where you also have to understand that they won't browse through the TOS of exchanges just to make sure you can do what you want without any problems.

Hitbtc doesn't seem to be an exchange most of the more senior members are willing to use aside from dumping their fork coins. Do a quick search and see how many complaints there are about Hitbtc.

Frozen accounts where people haven't been able to log in for weeks due to lacking support, missing deposits, people not being able to withdraw for whatever odd reason, and the list goes on.

BSV is not the real Bcash. Bcash is the real Bcash.

Hey all.  I believe i have had btc sent from a gambling site to binance without an issue.  Has anyone here done this recently and could tell me if there are issues?  Thus that way if you want btc on binance, you dont have to receive the btc in your wallet and then send it to binance etc.

Also anyone done this with bittrex?  I would most likely be withdrawing btc and want it sent to binance or bittrex.  I could have it sent to my wallet and then i send it to binance or bittrex but if there are no issues going directly, i would do this.  I know coinbase does not like this based on what others have said.
