There are several different types of Bitcoin clients. The most secure are full nodes like Bitcoin Core, which will follow the rules of the network no matter what miners do. Even if every miner decided to create 1000 bitcoins per block, full nodes would stick to the rules and reject those blocks.

when mining from the wallet I find blocks and get an incoming transaction, but it disappears after 2 seconds and my balance sits at 0. any idea why that is?

Orphans - it means someone else beat you to that block before you found it checking for Berkeley DB C++ headers... no
configure: error: libdb_cxx headers missing, BitDaric Core requires this library for wallet functionality (--disable-wallet to disable wallet functionality)
You need to install libdb c++ |

Orphans - it means someone else beat you to that block before you found it checking for Berkeley DB C++ headers... no

You need to install libdb c++ I used libdb4.8-dev. Only bitdaric can not build |

If you were telling exact percentage of the premined coins it could save time to you and to others as well. You mentioned yes for premine but didn't made effort to give figures for maximum transparency it should be stated clearly without need to ask you. I hope you will add this information as soon as possible.
