2月5日讯，据数据专家Alex de Vries提供的比特币能源消耗指数显示，目前数字货币交易和开采过程所消耗的能源总量，超过了159个国家的消耗量，整个比特币网络每年的花费约为23.5亿美元。数据显示，目前比特币年用电量估计约为47.07太瓦时（TWh），年度挖矿总收入约为79.68亿美元。
