If I remember right: both Iceland and Hungary booted central bankers out of their countries after repaying their debt to banks incurred during the 2008 economic crisis. Am I right in thinking the Czech Republic falls roughly under the same category, in terms of it being politically aligned in opposition to central banks? There are interesting independence movements ongoing around the globe whereby many appear to be taking note of the influence central bankers have upon the world and are deciding to oppose their negative influence.

I wish we could do more to support this as americans.

You see, it is more about the mentality of the Czechs... We kinda like to take risks and we like to grasp opportunities by the toe. Also if there is any way of kinda avoid government, taxes, etc, Czech folks will do just that. Not only are they accepting cryptos, they are also severing more customers than just Czech which is a big bonus. Sadly they don't ship to my country as I am outside the EU but good for people inside the EU. It does give me optimism that more merchants will begin accepting cryptocurrencies, mainstream adoption gets closer each and every day!

It is positive news for the country and the users in the country. If only we can get to see more countries like this coming up with an adoption like this, it would make the whole system better. One thing that this is going to create is awareness and adoption. Exactly! The OP may not see it as a big news, but for the whole community at large and the investors, it is a very good one. This kind of news give hope that there is a huge light at the end of the tunnel, and the thing is that it takes few to start and most especially the brave ones, and once others start using them as case study based on how well they are doing, the adoption at that level will start increasing and we will see more of them coming up. Great one for the people of this country and I am sure over time, it should have impact on their economy if the adoption increases, which I believe it will.

That's nice to know that btc along with other crypto (ethereum, litecoin etc)are still growing in your country. I have read an article about the sudden rise of btc in Czech republic. If i am not mistaken that happened as early as the start of year 2015. However, expect that your country might regulate soon or do something about the circulation of cryptos because it is now getting bigger and bigger. For now, enjoy your hassle-free purchases as you can leave your banknotes and even payment cards when traveling.

Well the shop has to pay taxes already (I have no idea how do they do it, but they have to) and only regulation coming to my minf that could be quite easily implemented is KYC. I do not find that much of a problem And yes, Czech Republic is one of te biggest miners per head country

I am very sure since the government is aware of all the development, taxes should not be a problem. It is good to hear stuffs like this anyway. I am not sure how regulation is really done by the government here, but at the end of it all, once one of the biggest shop as you said is accepting, that would get most of the citizens who even have no idea about cryptocurrencies to get curious and want to know more. Yes, i agree this is the best example for everybody in the side of the government in there country were it helps to boost there economic stability in providing easy and fast transaction payment were all people are cashless. I assume that you can't just enter the store and spend thousends of dollars in bitcoin, and you will need to declare where the money came from.
I don't know how Czech Republic react to cryopocurrencies, but I just can't believe that they let people spending their earnings without passing through any government's agency.

This will not be a world news. This will not be giant game changer. This will, however be a topic close to me as I am from the Czech republic.

For those who are totally unaware, Czech republic is a small country in the middle of Europe (sometimes called the heart of Europe). But we are one of the biggest BTC miners per head!

Even with all those recent news, Czech republic stays strong in the crypto markets, believing in the blockchain. This can be easily shown by our biggest e-shop with electronic. They started to accept BTC as a mean of payment last year and it has easily become one of the most popular payment options, especially for PC components (mostly for more mining).

The most recent news is, that the e-shop will accept LTC and DASH next! Those are awesome news! Why? It shows, that even in the bloody times for the crypto markets, the crpyto currencies are still used even in the mainstream shops somewhere around the world. Even if we are just a small country, we slowly, but steadily accept crypto in our everyday lifes.

Just wanted to share this bit of information with you guys, hope someone would fin it interesting!
