I disagree, it's offensively ugly.

Well, constructively, I believe many people will dislike the wallet design, because it is somewhat reminiscent of a Video game forum look, with the sharp black and red contrasts and dark grey background. Large contrasts like this tend to look better in an informal setting, however when dealing with things like financials, people tend to like clean looking lighter colors with slight contrasts. For example, check out the forum's color scheme. While some people may not like it, many more will agree that it is suitable enough to be functional without distracting. The same goes for wallet clients.

none of those except the front page are going into production. its more a demo of the types of changes that could be made in general. The nice thing about custom gui is it can be totally optional. with some work i think i can put a button that allows you to switch gui on the fly.

I'll be honest...I've never cared much what the wallets look like as long as everything is easy to read. Perhaps some do care...and the effort to change the look here is commendable...but how often are you really staring at your crypto wallet?

While I will admit I like the Megacoin client...it has more to do with the layout and ability to easily see transaction history from the main tab than it does the actual design. Thus far, it's the only wallet I've seen that (arguably) improves on the default design. The color scheme/etc is neutral to me.

Colors/crazy fonts/etc don't really interest me. This reminds me of the old "Sub7" and "NetBUS" days.  Grin
