To make it logical to first think about storage place. There's mobile storage NEO APP but it's very buggy. Typically the choice of users is the desktop NEON and this is fully justified.

Yes..you can hold neo for long term investment. Neo are Ethereum of China, now Neo are getting more and more ico run by their platform, and you can get free gas while you holding Neo. You need to keep neo at your own wallet to receive free gas, if not wrong only Binance exchange are giving free gas while you holding neo at Binance exchange. They payout gas once a month.

Neo is good for longterm investment especially if you are thinking to stake your shares to the network and it will become the best choice as staking coin. You just need to register in exchange site just like binance that gives limit amount to the new account without any verification data. You must do your own research about that. the point is what are you looking for from neo?

Will GAS become more valuable if NEO becomes too expensive in the future? Cause you need full units of NEO if you want to hold long term unlike BTC,ETH etc. I guess NEO will still have a higher price though because it's what generates GAS.

NEO is a good long term investment like Ethereum infact I predict that it will be the new competitor of Ethereum and will seek  a position on top 10 in coinmarketcap. It is just a matter of time and it will materialize.
