Hi all

I'm new in crypto. I just hesitate when i join an ico and they ask for KYC thing in the beginning  with upload my identity. While i found some ico ask the KYC after their sale end or a day before end sale.
What is your opinion? Should you give your identity?

Do you think the ICO is legit? It's only up to you to decide if the risk of uploading your ID and personal data is worth. I personally would not risk having my identity stolen just to join a random ICO.

Unfortunally, I expect that even more ICO's will start asking for KYC verification in the future.

It's important to take some time to verify that you're not sending your personal information to just anyone but ultimately if you want to participate in ICOs you're going to have to complete KYC.

The majority of ICOs now require KYC and in a few more months I think it will be 100%. It is good from a legal point of view to stop money laundering etc but at the same time some controls need to be put in place to control how easily it is for persons to create scam ICOs. I suspect this will high up on the list of priorities for many regulators across the world.

Hi,

As you say, you're new, you must take enough time to learn about the cryptoworld and the ICO's in general. Are you sure this one isn't a scam ? You can well imagined what a scammer will do with all your identity things, maybe sell them or whatever you can do with it.

Is it worth to take the risk ? I would wait to have more experience ...

You should always do your DD.  When buying into an ICO.   There is always a risk.  Think about it.  You just gave them money and your identity Sad

You have to provide your ID if they ask for it if you want to participate in that particular ICO. In general, be very careful with ICOs. Many of them are not entirely what they present themselves as being. Others are being issued cease and desist orders because what they are selling really needs to be registered as a security. In general ICOs are facing more and more regulatory pressure. Choose wisely...
