Why is there a trash been on Cryptopia next to each of your holdings? Would someone actually trash all their coins? I can't delete my Apple stock off of etrade. Some of these exchanges are so bizarre.

It's called dusts. Usually they are under the minimum trade value of the exchange.

Many people are using 'Hide Zero Balance' option on exchanges to hide the XXXX tokens and show just those with balanced. But dust is also balance... so people dump it to remove the token from their daily list.
