Binance Down

Binance is already running for almost a year and I think there's no shady business happening in the exchange. I think it's just a maintenance maybe for an update or just repairs.

The official Twitter handle had tweeted that there was some issue with the backup database and they are fixing the database. It's taking time because the data volume is huge.
They said there will be no data loss and they'll fine 30 minutes to b withdraw the t order book

Yes, I heard this news. They said that for technical reasons they closed the exchange to synchronize the databases. Although I do not really understand what it is, but in any case there is nothing criminal in this

Binance is excellent exchange and all servers always needs periodic maintenance.

Good for you dude you already withdraw your fund from binance but as of now they doing maintenance to upgrade their site.

yes, this is just ordinary maintenance, they do not send email to every member because this maintenance will only last a moment, and they have announced this in telegram

There is a worry among traders specifically those who have Binance a Hong Kong based cryptocurrency that it might have been hacked. The company said that they are just having site upgrades for 12 hours which was then extended to 24 hours. But then, traders still hope that it is just an ordinary re syncing and that their money were still in tact.

What are you thinking? They were hacked? No. But if you have withdrawn your funds and will use it to trade into other exchange then it's good for you.

Hoping binance will fix this issue as soon as possible.

They need to upgrade as there are already too many traders that they are catering everyday so this will fix some major and minor issue that has been reported through their ticket and has been found by their developers.

But never hold all of your portfolio on this exchange.

I understand why people panic, if it was me, i would also go crazy! Binance is a top 3 exchange in the world. If it can go down, means any exchange go down due to server issue. However i know funds are safe, but it still worries me, how a big exchange can go in maintenance mode without letting their customer. weird!

The followers on twitter are going nuts.
Its close to 24hrs down and they just extended it up to another 9 hours.

No email to the users letting us know they were shutting down.
Seems kinda abrupt. Hope it really is just maintenance.

This had happened before too, where they have to upgrade their servers to accommodate the exponentially increasing users to ensure that everything runs smoothly.

They had to react quickly because the tech found that the trades are getting out of sync due to the heavy traffic, hence the hardware needs to be upgraded yet again.

Maintenance and upgrading servers is not easy task, it shouldn't be rushed, bugs needs to be fleshed out, and checks need to be made to ensure that the system is secure before opening it back up for public use again.

System maintenance doesn't include trying recovering data in 3 different ways, and failing on first 2 attempts. Can't fkn believe how many people live in la la land and decive themselves by ignoring bad news every single day. If you would cut their hand off, they would probably go like: "I don't think anyone cut my hand off, it was a bit shorter than the other one from the start. Stop spreading FUD."

It seems that Binance's servers are having some problems, and now they're synchronizing all the exchange data from the standby server, so it takes a little bit of time to wait a little bit.

Why did not they warn their users about this? There would be significantly less panic...
