On the 7d chart the price drop is so insignificant that it may be concidered as flat. I suggets that it hsppens because there is no big news from the top coins but bitcoin is recovering from the dips (+-10% per day) and people are simply trying to short by selling their alts for BTC to get some profits.

Just buy and hold, if this technology is threat to banks, ripple will be the one that go to the moon first. Declining and consolidating for a while is also normal.
