New to bit coin

Hi All,
I am quite new to the idea of bit coin having been introduced to it through an internet supplier. I have now made a number of purchases using bit coin and have read quite a bit of background theory on it. I have joined this forum to seek advise and ideas on developing software applications for the bit coin market place.
