Lost Electrum Pwd but have Seed

Problem is, when I start Electrum, it asks for the password. So I can never get to the interface where I can restore from seed. Is there a way around this?

File > new/restore will do it too

That's the problem tho... OP couldn't get to the Electrum menus, as it comes up the password prompt first.

Despite what everyone was saying on that reddit thread about renaming/moving files etc... the easiest way around this is to just change the wallet name in the password prompt window... just make it anything you like (as long as it isn't the same as another already existing wallet file) and Electrum will automatically begin the "create a new wallet" process:
