Problem thought, if our minds are stored in the block chain, they are going to be static? how can they change except once every 10 minutes... 1 Chronon = 10minutes.. maybe if we can reduce chronons (blocks) down to 0.00000000000000001 seconds ..
although.. as time is just a perception the virtual minds may experience time in the same way that we experience it (even if 10 minute block times).. so to us 10 years may have past but only 0.0000000000001 seconds have past in the VirtualMindBlockChain....
so if we want them to interact with the real world the computer will have to be very fast... (it could remotely control a robot bio body?)
or do you just mean to store our virtual minds (so static is ok?)?
Sure. All what is in the blockchain is static, but would be very resource intensive to update it every 10 min so it will be only an incremental upload every week for standard virtual minds. (for premiums every day)
But every 10 minutes the hash of the incremental change will be updated and the incremental changes will be backup-ed on more servers until it will be uploaded in the blockchain.
The servers must have a 99.99% running up-time guaranty so once a year could happen that results of 10 min thinking of a virtual mind get lost.
That would be not tragical, it is just as would you sleep 10 minutes. The world has gone forward but you was not aware of it.
Another limitation will be that only 1% of your virtual minds content can change/month(12%/year). This would be not only to use less resources but also to protect them and would be a little bit higher then the average changing rate of a healthy biological brain's content.
For increased security the minds will run on one of many Virtual Minds Application Server's secured environment. The Server will be chosen randomly for every mind.
The World Future Intelligence Agency will make pressure on companies to implant Random Generator weakening measures in their products. This way they hope that in short time when they will be ready with a supercomputer, they could predict which mind when and where will run.
So the blockchain alone will be not enough to secure the virtual minds against manipulations. A very engaged developer team will supervise that all is running well.
A genial programmer of a Virtual Minds Application Server will show a bug how some parts of virtual minds could transferred to other mind but another programmer FutureSnailbrain2 will fix it quickly before any harm happens. He will receive as reward from the Namecoin2 Foundation that his mind will be uploaded for free and hosted forever in the Namecoin2 blockchain as life/FutureSnailbrain2 namespace entry.
There will be a SilkBrain, who will trade code snippets which will enhance Virtual Minds speed. This snippets could be even implanted in a biological brain with nano harpoons which will be traded illegally.
