Is this a Dual PSU adapter?

Someone threw this adapter in with a GPU I bought off of eBay a month or two back.



I'm pretty sure this is a dual PSU adapter, but it doesn't look like the other ones I see online and I'm not positive how to daisy chain both PSU's to one motherboard with it.  There's a 24 pin female on one end, 24 pin male on the other and off the male side there's a 2 pin male pin.

It almost looks like it's actually for one PSU to run multiple motherboards, but I'm not sure.  Anyone have any thoughts on this adapter?

The green+black pins intercept the power switch to tell the PSU when to turn on.  If they were female heads, you'd just plug those pins into a second PSU to turn it on simultaneously.

Male heads?  Might have come with a case with more than one power button, a daughter board, or maybe attached to a smaller special-purpse PSU (to turn on fans, water pumps, etc)

Perhaps one of  those 'dual' PCs that pair a beefy, power-greedy PC with a second, light, low-power computer built in - it would allow the smaller computer to power on and off the larger one at will.

So in short, no idea

Hehe, thanks for guessing.  I know I can just short out the pins on the 2nd PSU and keep in on/powered, so I'll just go that route.  I just thought I'd be able to use it until I saw that 2 pin male connector as well.

No, that is an adaptor that adds the dual 12v and 2 gournds to the motherboard when P4 came out.

For anyone with splicing skills. do this for dual psu

Take your first main cpu (the one that will also power the board) and cut the green pin on the 4 pin, and a nearby ground.

Do the same on psu 2.

now take the two green and black wires you have, and wire green to green, black to black. Now you take both pairs of wires, and splice it back to the molex conector on the board. This will tell both psus to fire up at the same time, and provide grounding for cross shorting.
