Introducing the HashBug development board!

I've been working on a single chip Avalon board good for debugging hardware or just experimenting with Avalon ASIC chips. Perfect for DIYers that need a way to get started. It has on board 1.2V and 3.3V regulators and room for a heatsink if needed. See below for renderings, the board is 3.4 in x 1.8 in.

The BOM only uses easy to get parts from Digikey or Mouser

I'm going to get a few of these made since I have 10 Avalon chips on hand, but I first wanted to see if anyone else would also like one. If we get enough interest, the boards would be about $6-$7.

And if there is enough interest in fully assembled boards, I might consider that too, but I'll have to crunch the numbers to figure out home much they might cost.

Given today's Avalon announcement, assuming their gen. 2 chips don't use a lot more power, these boards will also be compatible with those chips too.

I also plan on making a board for the BitFury chip, so stay tuned for that.

thanks,
-a[g

Your board might possibly work with the just announced avalon v2. They claim it will be backwards compatible, but who knows if that will be true. I hate to give BitSynCom any more money, but perhaps this would be good for your boards!
