Yesterday i am test new Sapphire RX 550 2Gb DDR5 GPU It give 300 H/s on stock frequencies, but if patch their timing easy get 450 H/s on cryptonote algo. All need to do is: 1) Download bios rom image with GPU-Z, 2) Then open with polaris bios editor and click button "one click patch" and save rom 3) Then flash new image with ATI flasher 4) Patch drivers with atikmdag and reboot your rig 5) Set frequencies in MSI AB: Core clock 1250 memory 1900 Power limit +5 6) Test and enjoy All needed files there: https://drive.google.com/open?id=1Yja5l6ZB9SlNsLIiMkKyFlSC4qKmBqT7

I highly doubt that, my R9 380 with modified bios is doing only 21.5 at ethash algos Although, your 7850 OCs really well, my MSI 7850 1GB version OCs only to 1350 Also, monero is not the frist option for cryptonight these days, there are more worthy coins (although most of them are shitcoins, but hey, people still buy them )

How does rx 550 compare to 560 for ROI and hash per power consumption?

With undervolting you can get power consumption down below 35W with the 550/560. I have my 560's undervolted to 910 mV and they only draw 32W each. Clocked at ~1200/2160. 535 H/s with xmr-stak and 505 H/s with Claymore. But I use Claymore despite the lower hashrate because it seems to be more efficient at finding shares.
A tip with these cards when mining Cryptonight: Most of the time the highest stable memory clock is not optimal. The proper way to judge the optimal memory clock is by how well the card finds shares. For instance if your max stable memory clock is 2100, you might want to try underclocking to 2090/2080/2070 and watch to see the point where the card starts finding the most shares.

I noticed that mining ETH to, a little less hashrate and you get more valid shares, i will lower all clocks of my rigs .

It is better not to buy anything else. They take up a lot of space and give a funny profit. And the main thing is limited in the capabilities of mining on other algorithms. 2 GB graphics card has long exhausted its capabilities

I use MPH and auto-exchange it, but only when the price on the bigger coins dip.

I'm wondering the optimum hashrate vs power consumption of 550 vs 560 On Cryptonight power consumption is virtually the same, depends on how much core voltage it runs at, the 560's undervolt flawlessly. 550 is only better value at Cryptonight if you're lucky to get 480-500 H/s (hope for Elpida). Many cannot do over 450 H/s. 560 2gb is guaranteed 500 H/s (Hynix or Elpida doesn't matter) and the better value if you can find it cheap.
