FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:

yBitcoin, the first free mass-marketed print magazine focused on Bitcoin education launches this Fall with a cover contest.

Huntsville, Alabama/United States, September 10, 2013 – Bailey Publications has unveiled plans for yBitcoin, a free quarterly print and digital guide designed to introduce global audiences to the Bitcoin economy, and the companies and leaders behind it.

Bringing with them 29 years of print media experience, Bailey Publications’ plans call for using the highest quality design and production standards, and direct-mailing over 30,000 free magazines of its premier issue, with plans to scale up production throughout 2014.

Covering an array of topics including exchanging, mining, security, shopping, legal, investment, merchant benefits and more, yBitcoin draws upon expert contributors and leading Bitcoin institutions to introduce the underlying concepts and promise of the cryptocurrency breakthrough.

Calli Bailey, Publisher says, “simply put, as an international traveler and parent of three generation-y techies, it didn’t take long to recognize cryptocurrency’s promise as an emerging technology capable of profoundly benefiting people around the world. Yes, Bitcoin has many hurdles yet to cross, but like the early days of the internet, its true potential and power has yet to be understood or appreciated. Our goal is to advance the dialogue by introducing Bitcoin to Main Street and provide a tool for the Bitcoin community to help facilitate their conversations with family, friends and favorite merchants.”

Cover Contest

yBitcoin launches global photo contest to highlight merchants accepting Bitcoin as payment around the world.

yBitcoin is seeking 9 photos suitable for publication of brick and mortar merchants from around the world, specifically storefronts, displaying a Bitcoin acceptance sign or emblem. The most interesting photos submitted meeting the quality specifications will be selected. Winners choice: one Bitcoin, 1/6 page ad in the premier issue’s Shopping section or $500 marketing credit.

High-resolution photos should be emailed to contest@ybitcoin.net by October 5th for consideration. Include your name, the city/country the photo was taken, and the merchant’s name and address. Further details at http://ybitcoin.net

I'm really excited about this! Having explored the company Bailey Publications, and having met one of the owners, I'm confident this publication is going to be a top quality, premium magazine, and it will have a major impact in raising the profile of bitcoin among mainstream business owners, investors and the general public.

Get involved if you are an amateur or pro photographer, because having your photo featured on the inaugural cover of yBitcoin will be a coveted feather in your cap.

Bitcoin Magazine is awesome, and this will not be a product competitive to it, based on the way Bailey Publications explained it to me. This will be sent as an advertiser supported magazine to businesses, investment offices, doctors offices, car dealerships, etc. Bitcoin Magazine is more focused on in-depth reporting and education in the bitcoin community. It goes out to different addressees each quarter, so that it will spread the message to lots more people.

Hi! We're actually partnered with Bitcoin Magazine, they will have a section entirely branded for their publication within our magazine. We are a completely free publication, designed to introduce people to Bitcoin... our information will not be completely relevant (except perhaps to see who is advertising) nor geared towards the existing community, Bitcoin Magazine does an awesome job of that already, instead we compliment Bitcoin Magazine's service by having consumable yet thorough articles on Bitcoin basics that expand the community and userbase. Think a print version of CoinDesk's information center (another partner of ours) in addition to reputable advertisers from the industry. We do however hope the community uses our publication as a tool to help facilitate conversation with their colleagues/friends/family/favorite merchants- we're going to do out best to address all the stereotypical concerns that have been addressed a million times here on BitcoinTalk...

Theron is correct in saying that our publication will not (well, should not) hit the same address twice (since our editorial content does not change much issue to issue).. we're hoping to get this out to over 120,000 unique address within the next 12 months in additional to having it available on the coffee tables of high end retailers throughout the USA. I'm really excited to see how we're going to help in growing the entire space!
