No, you could run with both. I or a Escrow must held the share till repayment is made. |

He may have sent the 1KUEcT6NUyhnALhG6CkgUmEWpJp48A9mWj 0.5 BTC as payback and the other .22xxx was returned? OP can we have you sign a message at very minimum showing you own that sending address? It won't prove everything but it will help. Otherwise this looks very suspect. |
