I'm interested in the content of this speech.
I thought there was no proof that the chemical weapons were used by Assad's regime... Does he appear to be making this fairy-tale up?

Maybe it's all part of the act, but it sure sounds like someone is heavily pressuring Obama to sign up for a war, and he's actually doing his best to resist.
<tin-foil-hat>Someone's got a gun to his head saying, "sign this war-deployment thing or your family dies". Obama says... "Suure thing, boss! Lemme just announce it in a press conference..." Then he goes off-script and says he's going to ask for congressional approval first.
A week later, again he goes off-script: "I'm totally in favour of war and kicking ass, but first we're going to pursue this new diplomatic avenue after my chat with Putin." So yeah, who knows what the hell is going on behind the scenes.</tin-foil-hat>

The same type of thing happened to me once. My dentist shot me full of novocaine and the numbness went up into my eye socket. As it wore off, that eyelid lagged behind the other whenever I blinked. Pretty sure they keep Obama sedated when he's not golfing, so that could just be the drugs. |
