Im not sure if this should be on this thread but personally i think that it is quite serious and involves your entire crypto savings. Have anyone bought ledger nano s from salt? It costs 7 salts and roughly about 25usd now. Which is pretty much the cheapest deal anywhere. Since the ledgers sold on salt platform are rebranded and have a SALT LOGO printed on them. Will there be any chance that they are tampered with and contain malicious codes or internal soft/hardware that isn’t safe and could possibly lead to soneone potentially hacking and stealing ur funds?

Have no idea about SALT, but common sense just dictates that you want to buy your ledger directly from the source. You don't need hardware wallet unless you have some serious money. And if you have a decent amount than it shouldn't bother you to pay full price for maximum security.

You can check it for tampering with the software test, the instructions are on the ledger page.

But things can usually be made much simpler:  if the ledger is configured when you get it, it is unsafe.  Someone may have a copy of the key phrase.

In that case, enter an incorrect pin 3x and the seed will be abandoned.  Then the device can be reinitialised like new.  For extra paranoia, do this process twice to make sure the 24 word passphrase actually changes when a new seed is initialized.
