Just look out for the ones that are being updated and changed by developers who can actually read the code and you have your answer....

precisely. a coin is a coin is a coin... they all work. it just matters whether or not they're being actively developed, which most often means creating services for the coin and trying to nurture its adoption. My vote is for DGC, baritus seems to understand how this concept works. in the end though.. maybe we'll never even stray away from BTC?
