I doubt that the update will have a strong effect.
Cardano price (connected to Bitcoin) is one of the most stable coins in last few months. If there is any effect at all, it will be positive.

Shelly is a good step forwards and any major release will tend to have a positive impact on price. The quality of the release will be what ensures longevity of the price rise, could just be a case of buy the rumor sell the news.

I am not sure if the ADA has a price increase, but I believe in the long term Cardano is a coin I want to hold. I'm holding a huge amount of ADA, but I don't think the ADA will increase much this year.

From the official news revealed about the release of Shelly it has put forth the updates taking place along with it. Shelley phase will include the following developments: multiSig transactions, enhanced Wallet backend, light client mode, networking, paper wallets, consensus and incentive fees, open Ouroboros delegation, quantum resistant, a voting center, and human-friendly addresses. These will surely create a positive impact on the price and marketcap.

I agree with you. I also hodl some amounts of ADA as this coin has some good potential in the 1-2 year span for a long-term investment.

Cardano to me seems to be making more noise than it is actually delivering, I would rather not speculate on this because of the adage that says buy the rumour sell the news. In this space people always price major news announcement into the price of the tokens and dumped when the event occur. Just be-careful with your trade here

Because the bitcoin who has determined the price of cardano and it' not only cardano the whole altcoin pegged to the bitcoin. This update will possible to give a little impact to the price but this for short term.
I don't expect this can grow a lot for the long term.

New developments with most coins tend to get priced in pretty quickly, the old buy the rumour sell the news idea. It's likely that any projected increase is priced in already, but as always with crypto, we don't know for sure.

As an eagerly awaited update i doubt it is a case of sell the news. This is not a minor change but one that will set it on the right track and sets it apart from the other dapp platforms. Not yet an ethereum killer but one to invest in early before other updates are released
