how power GPU and riser EVGA 1200 p2

Hi all guys!

im new to this world, i ve read tons of stuffs in the last months but still havent figured out a lot of things...

i ve found a good deal of a EVGA 1200w p2 (https://www.evga.com/products/Product.aspx?pn=220-P2-1200-X1)

my question is how can i power 6 gpus (undervolted) and the risers?

should i use 3 pcie to power 6 risers(2 riser x pcie) and the remain 3 pcie to power the 6 gpus(2 gpuscx pcie)?

should i use sata to power risers (2 x cable)?

should i use molex to power risers (even tho this psu only have 5 molex :/)

any help/suggestion will be appreciated

im planning to use rx570s/580s or 1070s, depending on prices.

In this case I would use SATA to power risers (2 x cable). Some weird 1070 GPUs may pull up to 50% of their power from the riser, like Gigabyte 1070 ITX Mini does for example, so be careful with that. With two of those per sata cable the latter was getting warm to touch during summer (EVGA PSU) because each GPU was pulling ~6A from 12V rail.

Otherwise that 1200W P2 is a solid power source for 6x1070.

200 euros for this psu is a bergain would be sad to pass on it to pay a server psu and even pay huge taxes :/

Yes, it is safe to run two risers off of each SATA cable coming out of EVGA P2 series PSU. Other crappy PSUs may have weaker cables/connectors, but this one should be solid.

hey meantime i got an idea, it might be stupind so dont blame me im a newbie

if i use and usb stick or m.2 ssd as hard drive, can i use the 6 pins to 6 pins  into the satas and perif slots since they would be all empty?  6pin to 6 pin should be safe but i dont know if they work on satas/perif slots....what do you think

edit: after a while of google it might be a stupid idea :/

You will need to find a proper adapter cable to convert from EVGA's PERIF/SATA output to a 6-pin PCIe. Not sure if they exist though.
