Hi all,
Currently I'm looking into different blockchain applications in the healthcare space. I was wondering which ones are considered as best-practices, and if I'm missing big ones.
This is no investment question at all, just genuine interest in how blockchain can disrupt the healthcare industry.
Thanks for helping me complete this list!
Data management: - Medibloc - Medicalchain - Patientory
Supply chain: - Gem - Chronicled
Genome sequencing - Encrypgen

How about Medichain https://icobench.com/ico/medichain It seems same as Medicalchain or medibloc. Not quite sure what is the difference. I like the idea about healthcare running on top of blockchain. It will change the game on medical industry.

This topic definitely intrigues me. If crypto could somehow find a way to play a larger hand in healthcare, I think that would resolve a lot of issues and open up so many possibilities! If anyone has any good reads I would love more information on this.

I watched an hour long blockchain presentation in Dubai. I can assure you UAE is developing blockchain network for healthcare. I'm still waiting for more news but it's essential to do some homework in Arabic. UAE is going to be the future of blockchain. Hop on the train before you miss it!

Actually Blockchain is very much useful in health industry for storing patient's details, lab reports etc but the token isn't actually useful here. Its only for the crowdfunding of the project. Utility tokens do play a part here but the tokens might be used for speculation purposes mainly.

It is a great idea, when health is integrated into blockchain, hen lives are being saved through blockchain technology. So many lives are being endangered, when there is no proper medical care and proper health data. This this development on blockchain, i feel there is hope for humanity. Blockchain is advancing on daily bases and so many Use-Cases are coming up, it makes it more interesting. So many people will likely develop interest when they get to know about health in blockchain.

I am also interested in this post, and I look forward to more valuable responses. The blockchain can change that because there is a lot of black screen and unprescriptive in the traditional medical field.

Yeah... I'm going to pass. Digitalization in health care is a very, very, very highly regulated area. Multi billion dollar companies are trying to implement digitalization for years and regulations are a pain in the ass. Please do you due diligence. I'm afraid most companies won't ever make a working product and the ones which will are going to face a lot of obstacles along the way.

Thanks a lot, this blog is great indeed! What's good is that on this page there are various blockchain projects related to healthcare put into different categories. And the list is constantly updated if the team submits a request for that. However, as to be in the list one just has to get the team ask for it, it makes the list as full as possible while not providing information or caring how strong and whether legit these projects really are. This list is providing more info on specific projects and their success, but it's only about what happened in 2017: https://www.coindesk.com/blockchain-healthcare-2017s-successes/.

You know, Blockchain truly has the potential to create new foundations for the healthcare industry, as it really needs to be innovated. Despite the huge advances, healthcare still lacks efficiency. But Blockchain can place the patient at the center of the whole ecosystem increasing the privacy, security and enabling sharing of the health data. In this regard, we moved a step closer to reality after many startups decided to address some existing pain points. I can mention the following projects... MedRec. The project is designed for providing a secure mechanism to store the medical records./ PointNurse. It concentrates on giving nurses a possibility to lead patient-focused care outside the hospital./ Health Wizz. This platform enables patients to make up their own digital health portfolio and give access to any interested person.

This list is providing more info on specific projects and their success, but it's only about what happened in 2017: https://www.coindesk.com/blockchain-healthcare-2017s-successes/. Thanks! Totally agree that having more curation is important. The blockchain is a really good fit for healthcare but the healthcare industry is a notoriously difficult market and changing it is by no means certain. Most of the projects in healthcare are still very early stage. Frankly it's way too easy for random projects to list off a bunch of numbers about how dysfunctional healthcare is. I've been seeing some projects recently that literally claim they will cure all disease by 2050 and that they will completely replace the insurance system and drug R&D. That's naive at best and a scam at worst. I think the key is to find projects that have identified specific pain points in the healthcare industry where the blockchain can provide strong enough operational efficiencies to spur adoption on day one. It's those projects that actually have a chance at transforming healthcare over the long haul. With that in mind I'd suggest evaluating every single healthcare project on the following (we should also add to this list haha). 1. Do they have a viable strategy to drive adoption without first needing a critical mass of participants? 2. What pain points are they focused on? Does their team have expertise in solving those? 3. Do they have any product under development? Is there activity in their GitHub? 4. Have they secured partnerships to deploy their system? 5. Are they being realistic about the challenges? Huge red flag is when a project just laundry lists problems and is short on specifics Having worked in healthcare my entire career, I'm well aware of how critical the need for change is. There's a lot of hard work ahead though and we need to be very skeptical of the projects that say otherwise.

Blockchain technology for healthcare industry fits quite well. For me it's like must have technology because they work/store very sensitive and private information.

I think BTC won't have a big success in medicine. The question is if it needs blockchain, I believe the answer is NO

I think that blockchain in medetsin is very useful if you pay attention to such a wonderful project as Patientory, which would be simply necessary for people who travel and were in trouble, well, in fact, you can think of so many different situations, I think that blockchain in medicine is very useful.
