Bitcoin is a participatory system which ought to respect the right of self determinism of all of its users - Gregory Maxwell.
There are several different types of Bitcoin clients. The most secure are full nodes like Bitcoin Core, which will follow the rules of the network no matter what miners do. Even if every miner decided to create 1000 bitcoins per block, full nodes would stick to the rules and reject those blocks.

I don't know exactly why yet, but I have a bad feeling about Cointerra. Their attitude just seems dishonest and sleazy, especially after reading their post on Reddit. They steal photos for their site, claim they are all about "the little guy" mining, and talk about ideals, yet none of their actions back this up. They are either going to screw as many people as they can, (notice their is no buyer protection in their sales!) or flood the market with hashing power until its dead. They claim they designed their systems for a data center, then throw water cooling on it? It's a real PITA to get datacenters to approve liquid cooling. Their team is also quite large for designing an asic, which makes me wonder about their intelligence. That's a lot of guys who will need a large piece of the pie. Maybe I should just take off my tin foil hat.

What does everyone else think?

Thank you for the research and the laugh.
If you believe the company has infringed on copyrights or intellectual property then you could contact thier host and have the website taken down if the claim proves to be true.

Same can be said of BFL and their art gallery with various intellectual property violations.
