Hello, I just tried to give 1 merit for the message

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=2837313.msg30113777#msg30113777

but I got an error.

An Error Has Occurred!
You do not have enough sendable merit.

What does it mean?
Every time a block is mined, a certain amount of BTC (called the subsidy) is created out of thin air and given to the miner. The subsidy halves every four years and will reach 0 in about 130 years.

How much sendable merit (as opposed to the kind of merit that accumulates and is shown on your profile) do you have? Your balance of sendable merit is shown when you click on a 'Merit' link.

No. You need to click on a '+Merit' link such as the one next to this message. Sorry for being unclear.

For example, this is what I see:

Quote
You have received a total of 32 merit. This is what determines your forum rank. You typically cannot lose this merit. You have 0 sendable merit (sMerit) which you can send to other people. There is no point in hoarding sMerit; keeping it yourself does not benefit you, and we reserve the right to decay unused sMerit in the future.

If you have 0 sMerits, you can't send any. As simple as that.

OK, so that would be why you can't send any.

For current members, your initial merit score is equal to the minimum required to your rank. Of that, a certain amount (less than the usual half) is spendable. The spendable amount was calculated based on your current rank and the number of activity points you earned in the last year.

So my guess is you have spent what merit you had available to spend and therefore need to earn more merit before you can continue giving out merits.

For me it's strange, since I did not spend. Maybe there's some mistake, but I should have 46 sMerit
Who can tell me where they went?

You initially received an amount of smerit less than the usual half. In other words, you didn't receive 50 smerit but less. Since you have sent 4 and now have 0, it would seem you received 4.

It should not be. I would like to be given a qualified consultation

As far as I know, Active Full Members only got free 4 sMerits after Merit system implementation.
And looking at your Merit History, you already spent all your spendable merit.
The 50% sMerit in every Merit received only applies to the new Merit that you will receive. So there are no 50 sMerit in your account to begin with.

In comparison, Active Members got only 1 sMerit to spend.
I (member) already received 25 Merit since this system started, that is equals to 12 sMerit (1 sMerit left) which is listed in my Sent Merit History.
