Definitely Cardano and VeChain. Both have a promising future, I think. Cardano is the third-generation blockchain and VeChain is already being used by a lot of companies. Golden future ahead!

Safe investment: Go for any top 100 coin that appeals to you and has a solid team/product/appearance.

Risky, but lucrative investment: Look out for newcomer-coins or next-to-boom coins with a yet small market capitalization.

I personally have high hopes in ALQO. German coin with a lot of upcoming things (a new exchange being one of those to come this year!).

The altcoins I'm gonna hold long term for the whole 2018 are ETH, ETC, LTC, Mysterium, Kapu, Viuly, Waves and Minexcoin. I think it's worth to wait at least until 2019 before selling them...

I will go with Deeponion. I holded them since september and they gave me a lot of profits. Also the dev team is devoloping new features every day, so I think this coin will keep growing even faster than now. I also like enjin coin, check them out.

I guess you haven't bought any coins for the past couple years then? Everything is and has been at an all time high, going higher and higher....

I think BTC, ETH, LTC, DASH, Monero, ADA, ZCash or Zclassic will be good to hold in 2018.

Ethereum is also an alt, but everyone made huge profit holding it in 2017. May do the same this year, just I would say Cardano, NEO or XEM have potential for big gains also.. even bigger than ETH or BTC since it's easier to grow at low prices.
