BBC Panorama tonight 'Who Wants To Be A Bitcoin Millionaire?'

BBC like other media is owned by financial organisations who have always shown cryptocurrency in a bad light so I wonder how it will be portrayed in tonights bbc special.

Bitcoin is the world's leading virtual currency, but unlike real money, it is not backed by a government or properly regulated. Bitcoin is exchanged and held digitally by users - which is attractive to criminals selling drugs, pornography and arms. But now Bitcoin is moving into the mainstream and being openly marketed as an investment opportunity.

Panorama investigates what Bitcoin is and what it means, going inside a Bitcoin mine in Iceland - where currency is made - and spending time with the Bitcoin millionaires of Silicon Valley. The programme also hears from others who have been scammed out of their life savings and investors who think the cryptocurrency is an enormous scam and that the writing is on the wall.

In Britain, and around the world, authorities are sounding the alarm that Bitcoin is too risky - is it too late, or too crazy, to try to become a Bitcoin millionaire?

Watching it now.  The first 10 minutes has been okay, but I suspect the usual biases will be thrown in soon.  It seems to be shifting the subject to shady crapcoins like Onecoin now, so I'm hoping they aren't planning on tarring Bitcoin with the same brush.

//EDIT:  Okay, they did spend a little too long on the darknet and "bubble" stuff, but then just about redeemed it right at the end by saying that massive price swings aside, the real purpose is to get away from the banks and reinvent money.  It's just a shame that most people will focus on the negative stuff.  But time will likely change that.

I was surprised a little with the BBC I figured the show would all be negative but there was some positive stuff.

I will try to look for this show. I am interested to find out if there have been any manipulative messages in their narrative. I'm an expert in recognizing even subtle manipulations.

Overall It looked like it was warning to public to stay away from bitcoin.
