Hey guys, Not really related to BTC, but I was wondering of I could get some advice.

I need to set up a site for a friend who barely knows how to turn a computer on. So I need something basic enough that I can set it up, and not have to monitor every little thing that happens. I was thinking about giving http://website.1and1.com/free-website-builder a go, as it looks pretty novice-friendly. Has anyone else here had a similar experience?

Thanks.

Wordpress is very-user friendly. A free site can be created at http://wordpress.com/.

Wordpress is also open source and accepts bitcoins for premium features: http://en.blog.wordpress.com/2012/11/15/pay-another-way-bitcoin/

Still around.

Custom Wordpress set up will be a good option.

But a Blogger website would be even better, very, very low maintenance and a very user friendly administration panel, and it's free!

"free website builders" are a joke, weebly/webs included.

Free website builders are easy to use for setting up a site, but it'll always look like crap.

I agreed, OP you should shop around and compare prices for hosting. I only pay £10 a year for my online shopping website.

Thanks for the feedback guys, wanted to get a bit of a consensus before trying anything. Think I'll have a look around and see what I get sorted for him.
