Hi,
I participate in a coop and I dream about replacing EUR for BTC. Let's say that every member has to pay a fee. How can we check who has payed and who has not payed? I know that every payment generates a transaction and each transaction has a source address, but is there any way to prove that you were the one that did the transaction?
Thanks!

You can either assign a separate payment address to each person, and only give the address to that person so you know who paid and who did not, or you can have the senders sign a message with their payment. The signing part is above the heads of most new btc users, so I would opt for the first option.

Aha! Thanks! I didn't know that the private key in a wallet could be used to sign a random message. Now I just checked my MultiBit and, sure enough, there is an option to "tools->sign message". Amazing!
And the idea of giving a different address to each payer is beautifully simple. Thanks for your answers!

This! Each member has their own coop bitcoin address that they pay to. It doesn't (shouldn't?) matter who makes the payment to that address. As long as that address is paid, then that member's account is up to date.

As long as that address is paid, then that member's account is up to date. Better yet. If each member receives an invoice or bill indicating payment due, then they can have a new address generated for each payment, and the address can be printed on the invoice in both text and QRcode format. That way you can identify the specific bill that was paid.

That's the perfect solution. A different address for each payment. Then it is really easy to verify what has been paid and what is still pending. The more I learn about btc the more I like it. So many advantages!

That was already established. Yes, by cbhelp and Danny. But I confirm it is the best way.

You can be given a unique address where you can deposit you fee and after that the fee can be used by site.Site will have a record of transactions of that address.
