Hey everyone!

I was going to buy 3 USB Erupters for 150$ and I need to know if this will ever give me profit. Huh

I would have about 1GH/s but with the rising difficulty and the more powerful mining rigs in the market, i wonder if i would ever see my money back. I want to do this mostly in case the bitcoin value raises a lot.

I heard about the next gen rigs with 28nm chips and I was wondering when they would lower the prices. I obviously can't spend 4000$+ in my first investment.

Thanks everyone! Smiley

Dude.  If you buy 5 you can get it for 0.12 BTC each from friedcat + shipping, your offer is way too overpriced and I would love to rip you off ^_^

Who is friedcat? I keep on hearing this name.  Huh

He's the founder of AsicMiner, one of the most successful ASIC companies. Here are two threads:

No, you won't get your money back. But you may have some fun, and learn about cryptocurrencies. How much is that worth?

Don't buy at the price you mentioned. Look for a group buy in your own country.

I run some mining hardware not because im making profit with it (i wont with electricity prices here), but because it decentralizes and strengthens the bitcoin network.

The price i mentioned (150$) includes shipping (that is a lot because i'm from europe). It would be almost the same as if i bought them directly from the US. But thanks anyway. I think that the fact that everyone tells me not to do it gives me a pretty idea of the profit I will make. Absolutely none.

What about the 5GH BFL? does it worth it? i heard it takes ages for them to ship the units.

If you are in Europe the distributor is xyt, I think his current price is BTC0.17 for 1 USB stick. OutCast3k is the best agent in UK. I'm not sure about other countries.

Likely will never return the amount of BTC you will have if you just buy with the cash you have.
