The VISA credit system took decades for development and worldwide adoption, I suspect Bitcoin may follow a similar timeline, but will probably occur much faster.

i say it will happen a lot faster too. because you can not really compare bitcoin with things like Visa!
for starters Visa is centralized with huge fees and a lot of restrictions whereas bitcoin is decentralized and has low fees (at least 98% of its life time was low fees).
not to mention that Visa doesn't support a lot of countries and they have to accept those countries first before people can use it. but with bitcoin anyone from anywhere in the world can decide to use bitcoin and start doing it.

Hi,

Surely not!

There are many countries that are dealing with bitcoin currently, either accepting it or trying to make its use illegal.
I think that for most governments, bitcoin is not a good thing, at all. But some are obliged to "accept" its influence as it has a very large community of users.

Still, in most countries, the situation of bitcoin is a strange in-between: not illegal for the moment, because regulation has not been written yet, but not so legal either.

So, bitcoin being fully adopted by the end of 2018? I don't think so! Wink

Worldwide adoption?  Certainly not within this year.  The adoption rate is already faster than I thought though.

Bitcoin will be just accepted by modern countrys. Accepting Cryptocurrencies will open those countrys great oppurtinitys for new jobs and a total new million dollar industrie. From these new industrie, they can earn a lot of taxes when they would accept them. In the past year no gouverment take cryptocurrencies seriouse. Now they see therese some seriouse businnes behind. So they can start work with cryptos or they can work against cryptos. We all know which decision will be better Wink

Bitcoin is still not accepted in some countries.
Will it adopt by every country by this year end?
I think it has to be 2 years more because actually Bitcoin is still not be legal at most country, specially when there is a big scandal with Bitcoin on money laundrying , things are now complicated to say.
South Korea used to be a big country with big investors who adopted Bitcoin but it's no more for now so it turned into a miserable situation for bitcoin.

It depends on individual countries but I think if the USA legalizes it tomorrow then most of the countries will follow it.

Well judging by how it has been moving in the past years or at least the past year, I really do not think that this is possible yet op. It really is just impossible to happen as of this moment. Heck, I don't even think that it will happen anywhere near my lifetime. Because if you try and take a look at how slow the progress of its legalization in all over the world has been going, you will really see how hopeless this case is. more countries choose to label it as something dangerous or illegal than the countries that actually accredit it. Not to mention all those countries that just chooses to not give a rat's ass about the matter. But, don't get me wrong, I love bitcoins. Its just that I cannot see it as something worthy of being a currency yet because of all its current issues.

I think the goal is hard to achieve. Bitcoin, which is now banned in some countries around the world, is very hostile towards bitcoin, banning bitcoin from trading in the country and calling it a hoax. If you want to change the way these countries treat bitcoin, it may take more time, and in the future, bitcoin may be accepted by these countries.

Bitcoin has faced too many challenges in past and still facing it, some crackdowns in different countries of the world against cryptos (including bitcoin) have created hurdles in market growth of cryptos and this discourage the use of cryptos as compared to fiat.
Pure adoption of bitcoin will need some more time (may be 2 to 3 years), because many of the countries are still trying to bring it down as China did in past, but sooner or later they will going to realize that cryptos are unstoppable and they should adopt it.

for now i think it cant go beyond that as you mention that btc as a payment because there are still country that ban bitcoin and also i think that credit card are much more prefer of peoples to use in payments for these couple more of years. So i think its impossible at end of 2018 but i also hope it happen that bitcoin will adapt or evolve to that development.

It's a bit difficult, because basically the government should be prepared with all the consequences if they will start adopting bitcoin as a means of payment etc.
but, in fact today bitcoin is so much in about in some countries, they do not trust bitcoin.
They always say bitcoin like bubbles. It may take several years to come until we can see many countries that will start legalizing bitcoin in their country.

We cant say that as of now as each country is measuring btc in its regulation point of view .They will see whether the coin fits in the financial point and also usage concept as well. They will also see the volatality factor which is very important for exchanges point of view.I still see little ray of hope in my country for its regualation

I think if you mean is regulation bitcoin for payment its hard for bitcoin because many central bank reject it but if bitcoin as investment its more possible for country regulating it.

I don't think it's possible. In some countries, facebook, twitter, Google is banned!

What's more, BTC, the decentralized currency, these countries have no way to control, they are afraid that BTC will affect their financial order!

No one can really say if when will all countries adopt Bitcoin or is it possible to happen because all countries have different looks at Bitcoin or cryptocurrency, some see it as a threat on the current financial system and there is a lot of competition while some countries wants to adopt it because of the advantages that it has. But there are different kinds of adoption, there are countries that allow the use of Bitcoin not to accept it as means of payment but to tax the traders on their earnings, while some countries like japan adopted it and now it is widely accepted in most of the services in their country. There are also some countries that haven't yet decided if they will legalize it and how they can regulate it.

It will never happen. It would be a miracle if it happened. While other parts of the world are slowly adapting to to bitcoin, many countries have already decided to ban it in their place. And besides bitcoin may still not be close to being "stable" that contributes much to the doubt of everyone.

I don't think that every country will adopt bitcoin easily because here many countries already banned the bitcoin and many big countries allows to use bitcoin legally , but still there are many countries are like they. Are thinking that whether they legalise the bitcoin or not or regulate then how .
And also few people are using bitcoin for illegal work that is making the bitcoin's popularity more but use it as a legal and better thing is hiding its real use .
So may be it can take 4-5 years to accept Bitcoin by every country in future , but this is sure that everyone will accept Because they have no another option to have bitcoin .
