I thought some of you guys may enjoy this cool little browser game I made. I tried to make it feel more like a game than other war games (level loading, high-scores etc), but it's still in a beta phase and could be a lot better (ideas are appreciated). I also designed it so each time you start a new game most of the level passwords will change. This is basically aimed at programmers/hackers so don't expect to find it fun if you don't like mental challenges that require logic and technical skills. Some of the levels are a little repetitive so I appreciate good puzzle ideas. http://aidse.co.cc/

Yeah, did it all myself, mainly to practice my PHP and JavaScript skills. I recently did a JS and PHP course so it was a good project which required heavy use of both languages.

I feel like it's still a little bit bland though. I might make another mode of play where it's more like missions with simple back stories and more unique puzzles. The levels available now really just test all the important skills.

I spent like 3min of my time trying to modify the JS in Chrome but it wouldn't save. ;P

The answer for level 5 has nothing to do with JavaScript. Look else where.

There are 10 levels all up.

I wish I had thought of something like that. If I get around to making it, the "story mode" will hopefully be a lot more interesting. The levels you are playing now will probably be "training mode".

90% of the answers are generated dynamically. If you start a new game then the answers will change (so will your game ID). The answers are generated using your current game ID, the level number, your IP address and a secret security string that doesn't change.

Stuck on L5 also. I'm hoping it's just me being blind to the obvious because the difficulty was scaling quite nicely on 1-4 but compared to the time I've spent on 5 they were trivial...

Once you locate the GIF you will find that it is corrupt. You need to download the corrupt GIF file. I'll leave out the last step even though it should be fairly obvious.

There are lots of games like this around the web (not trying do demotivate OP. he has done a great work here) and the first level is always looking at the source code. I almost wish I could start on level 2

I am having some trouble loading levels. Do you use cookies or something? I had cookies turned off because I thought level codes would be enough, but they don't seem to work...

I had to restart from the beginning because i didn't save the level codes and cleared cookies. On level 4, instead of the Base64 line with a changing phrase i get a static line (no matter how often i restart the game, switch ip, clear cache&cookies):

The "if (pswd = emSdAcWZioP)" was some Base64 before, if i remember correctly.

It's always in the last place you look remember. emSdAcWZioP is a variable not a string.

There are online tools to decompile different types of files. For example http://www.showmycode.com/ I'm not sure if that website will decompile the swf properly but I've used it with other file types and it worked well. I actually used a desktop tool to decompile the swf when I was testing it, but I forget what the tool was called.

Hmmm...seems like I may have a bug with the high score list. I'll look into it shortly...

EDIT: Ok, I have fixed the problem but unfortunately I think I lost one or two high scores. At the moment we only have "P100" and "asd" on the high score list. My apologies to anyone else who was on there. I should have payed more attention when making the high score list.
