"FUD" screams many in here - they are so afraid that negative news will further increase their losses on their Bitcoin "investment".

They desperately hope that by screaming "FUD" the price will magically be pumped again.

But what they call "FUD" is often just plain old truth and facts. And no amount of screaming will change reality.

Reality is that Bitcoin has proven beyond any doubt that it does not work as a currency.

The proof will arrive when the price reaches 0. Until then: it is still no proof, it is just speculation on your side. You clearly have taken sides in the debate and there is nothing wrong with that. But in reality there is nothing like "old truth and facts". Future will be what it may, and currently there is no way to predict it very accurately. So you may be surprised yet.

I don't think that you are right ... Since .. we all have seen how the bad news has been presented... When It comes to Bitcoins.
China banned Bitcoins ' - dude it already did whatever was left was nothing but that could cause that big of a problem ..
There are many cases that one can list..
I do think that newbies are being deviated using the false news .

Lol....This got me seriously laughing. Well, if you look at it in another perspective, in some way, it is sort of true though. But the truth still remain that most news headlines can cause panicking in some people whom are just starting out in crypto. That is why it is always adviceable to read the full content of a news before concluding. And of course Bitcoin can never serve as a form of currency,  those whom are waiting for this to happen should keep on waiting forever.

Reality is that Bitcoin has proven beyond any doubt that it does not work as a currency.

Well this assertion is just that, an assertion. I don't think reality proved anything. People still use Bitcoin in everyday transactions, the network fees started to drop, the congestion is gone, Lightning network is just around the corner. So it seems nothing was proven beyond any doubt. It's just a rant from your part.

Of course you are free to believe that Bitcoin will not succeed and will somehow be dumped as a currency in favor of something better. But that is just an entrepreneurial bet on your behalf, just as those who believe in Bitcoin bet that it will become money (universally accepted means of payment). So until the price of it drops to 0 or close to it, I don't think anything was proven yet.

The night is still young Smiley

IMO, FUD specifically refers to spreading false information deliberately with malicious intent (or at the very least being willfully ignorant of readily available correct information).

Malicious intent is difficult to gauge so it's hard to say that FUD is definitely prominent, but the blanket statement that it doesn't exist at all seems very disingenuous.

While I don't tend to use the term myself, if I was ever going to refer to anything as "FUD" it would most likely be your posts, due to your willful ignorance of various obnective aspects of BTC.  If you look through your history of created threads, you'll find that some of your threads have been corrected by a variety of people, and you have repeatedly attempted to ignore or offhand their points.

You've been a member here since August 2017? People who have been here since the early days have seen this exact scenario play out so many times already.
I seriously doubt that Bitcoin will disappear in the foreseeable future. The price may drop further, stay stable or may rise, but there is a core of people that uses Bitcoin because of its utility rather than it's speculative value.

Come back the next time when we're seeing an ATH again, then you can post a similar thread when the price drops again after that one.

You don't see the irony in talking about facts, reality and truth (they're not all the same things, by the way, possibly related but hardly necessarily correlating to each other!)... in a post completely devoid of facts. You can hate the guys who shout FUD as much as the guys who shout any of the terminology peppered across this forum, but if you're a player yourself, don't hate the game...

Yeah, I think actual FUD is a lot more complex than the shouts of "scam" or "crash" or "bloodbath". You can spread panic easily with clickbait, but not the deep-lying fear and uncertainty that takes a lot of documenting to build. I also don't necessarily see that information is false or true... any data can be analysed into a number of various takes, positive, negative and neutral.

Take any data you want. Daily charts? The recent Congress hearing on crypto. A hundred analysts could come up with a hundred different possible interpretations. Not necessarily false (or true), just adjusted to the statement they want to make.

Few people take raw data and then form a statement from objective analysis. They already know what they want to believe, and seek validation in the data.

I mean I'd think a lot of the news that is coming out is bought and paid for by the big players in the that are trying to change what the sheep in the market think. There is such thing as FUD, look at all the fake news sources coming out of the big media companies to try to kill bitcoin by saying that it's banned in certain countries, while it obviously isn't true in the least.

So yes, there is FUD

Actualy FUD is real, and all of us part of cryptocurrency will be affected, unlike as you said it is a just plain old truth and the  facts no amount of screaming, because the truth  im also experience this things happening now due,to consecutive dumping of price value of bitcoin, and why you thinks that all this things happen is only a drama,so that bitcoin will rise again if all in FUD making a decision, why you crticize bitcoin is not work as a currencency? If you know the truth bitcoin is  a real currency, that works now in digital form.

But what they call "FUD" is often just plain old truth and facts. And no amount of screaming will change reality.

what's the reasoning behind this?  are you just simply throwing bait? why don't you try and give us some examples of the "plain old truth and facts" that you're talking about?
What do you think the misinformation from India was? a simple mistake and misinterpretation from the news about what was actually happening? don't be naive, that was straight up FUD to shake up the market and the weak hands, same as the FUD campaign from South Korea a few weeks ago,

And what about the FUD about Tether a few weeks ago ? the whole thing about the subpoena happened in December, but the news (specifically, bloomberg) decided to report it a month later, the attempt to spread FUD was so obvious that bloomberg had to edit the original article to write the actual date of the event which occured in december, otherwise, people would've thought it was actually happening in January 30.

The spread of false information/fake news as well as media manipulation is real, the only person in denial of this fact is you.

No, some news were real FUD, like the "Ban" from India, or everything about Tether. Tether's liquidity was only negative speculation, there were no proven facts behind. As some people spread this without proven facts, you can consider this as FUD.

Just check what the term FUD means ("Fear, uncertainty and doubt") and you'll see that indeed, these negative news based in speculation facts are indeed FUD. As people always take more attention of negatives news, these kind of news works always well.

We had the same kind of news back in 2014, with a possible China ban, a possible Russian ban, and this had the same effect. Generally, these news vanishes as quickly than they appeared

I do agree that the line between FUD and bad news is blurred for some people, but FUD does exist.

Sensationalized headlines exist all over the crypto world, and that's just one example of FUD. Remember the supposed South Korea ban? How did that turn out? How about Jamie Dimon talking shit about it only for JPMorgan to buy the dip? Neither case involved denial, facts, nor truths. Just pure FUD.

It sucks that some people can't tell the difference, but they don't represent the entire community.

Reality is that Bitcoin has proven beyond any doubt that it does not work as a currency.

It works for the people of this forum, and some merchants. There may be at least a little room for doubt in your statement.
