There are several different types of Bitcoin clients. Hybrid server-assisted clients like Electrum get a lot of their network information from centralized servers, but they also check the server's results using blockchain header data. This is perhaps somewhat more secure than either server-assisted clients or header-only clients.

Mind if i ask where you get the idea, that it's going to jump up roughly 15% in the next 24 hours?

It's not an idea, it is what I predicted using some algorithm which I'm not going to elaborate on.

Well, it predicts the 17th and it is still the 16th, so you don't know yet if any drawing board is needed.

Fair enough, I simply inferred that it was behind schedule (at the very least) from nmat's post.  I kinda hope it's right, up is good, but it would be a little creepy if it was TOO right, and that is a pretty big gain.

I dont see how, you'd need about .5 million to enter the system in 24hrs as things stand right now.

It's possible that people change their asks and people deciding to not sell but it would take enmass cooperation and that people would buy at those prices without the .5 million but I cant see that happen unless you are sitting on some massive news story we dont know about. Like some major site deciding to take bitcoins.

mooo for rent
