I bought everything to build a miner

1000w gold rated coolermaster psu
asrock 970 extreme mobo
amd sempron cpu
4gb ddr3 ram
radeon hd 7950 gpus
powered risers
sterlite crate

just not sure how to go about mounting the floating gpus...

is a 16gb usb thumb drive suggestible for primary storage?

so many more questions...

I don't mean to burst your bubble but gpu mining isn't exactly out dated, but it kind of is. I say that because gpu's can process as fast as modern day asics, but an asic uses less power and usually most asics are faster than a gpu as well as easier to use.

GPU mining is still fine for scrypt based coins.

For mounting the GPUs, I just support them with some lumber.  Just sitting there.  No fancy case or rack.  the key thing is that they have good air flow.  that's it.  Anyway wood is cheap (or free if you already have it) and works well.  How elaborate you want to get is up to you.

well im going to try to get a ride to the hardware store, my idea for mounting the gpus is to use some angle brackets, ill post pictures

I plan to use some distro of linux (don't know which one) but only familiar with windows
