What’s unique about Momentum is that each of the digital currencies launched on the Momentum platform are backed by ‘brick and mortar’ companies products and services and therefore carry real-world intrinsic value (unlike 99.9% of digital currencies which are speculative digital currencies) which eliminates volatility both for the brand and for the users.
Momentum also features an automated marketing and communication engine, allowing brands to determine the rules for rewarding their customers, suppliers or charitable beneficiaries with digital coins backed by real value. The rules can be set quickly and changed rapidly as the system learns and can be related to purchases, loyalty, attention, insights, customer activity such as coming to a physical shop, attending an event or writing a review or for becoming socially involved or helping others.
Customers can enjoy the digital currency with the brands they love, or they can save it, gift it or exchange it into other digital currencies. I have read about DigitalBits as well their concept is quite good and they focusing globally.

Digitalbits appears to be more of a generic blockchain enablement platform, than a player that is focused on the loyalty space. However, it's interesting that they have picked loyalty as their use case to show HOW to do that. If they are focusing on loyalty, than yes, they would be more of a competitor.
