I decided to participate in litecoin fork, this will be my first one
and I need a little help from BitcoinTalk members.
Here is the article that I found with the most simple explanation:
I have some Litecoins and I plan to convert other coins into
Litecoin for this opportunity. In article its explained like this:
1.Create a brand-new wallet where you hold the private keys, whether with a wallet.dat file, or 12-word seed phrase.
2.Move as much LTC as you want to that address and wait for the time of the fork to pass.
3.Empty the wallet and take your LTC to an exchange or your preferred storage solution.
4.Use the empty wallet's private key to claim the new coins.
5.IMPORTANT: After that, do not use the old wallet, and consider it forever compromised.

I have couple questions, first one:
1.Which Litecoin wallet is the best for this?

Steps number 2, 3  are simple, but next question is about step 4,
2. Where to use that empty wallet private keys, wallet.dat file or 12-word seed phrase?

You are right. That is why I love his forum, many time's I was saved
from members here. Thank you a lot for that!

More searching lead me to couple very similar articles. There is not much
information about who is behind this Litecoin fork, who is trying  use Litecoin
name for marketing.
I will change headline of this topic. Maybe we can continue discussion about
who is behind this?  Is it a real scam or someone will work on this alt-coin in the
future?
Where do you check news? And what you think which news site is the best with
most truthful information's.

Charlie Lee is trying to protect his "brand" ... understandable.  But these forks generally are not supported by or liked by the main chain developers, so it's not surprising he is calling it a scam.  It probably is an attempted cash grab.

It's too bad the devs can't or don't "trademark" their names, so we don't have "Bitcoin Gold", or "Monero V", or "Litecoin Cash".  Some of the forks would not be so bad if they were not an obvious attempt at name recognition ... some of the renegade forks actually have some decent ideas behind them.  Just give it a new name ... there is a new forked coin of Ethereum Classic coming soon called "Callisto".  That's how it should be.  If you are going to steal the code and the blockchain history, at least come up with a new name.

Couple days ago the same kind of story happen with ETH holders, when hackers hacked Twitter accounts of some crypto stars, such us Vitalik Buterin, and from their names wrote about an air drop to participate in which people need to send their ETH on some platform or address (I do not remember exactly already). This is unnecessary to say that all of those money was simply stolen.
https://www.bleepingcomputer.com/news/cryptocurrency/ethereum-scammers-make-5-000-in-a-night-by-impersonating-celebs-on-twitter/
The Internet is such place where to become scammed is very easy and all of us should to be careful. it is just great that mr. bezobraznike created this thread where all of us found that LTC fork is just FUD, I actually also planned to participate in that.

It would be nice if every coin did not have forks, like a  Litecoin, and that would be the right decision. Why do we need prototypes if there is an original, which is much better and more effective. Plus, prototypes never differed in either demand or efficiency.

Did you think it makes sense to see fork coin just like ethereum classic will try to generate another fork coin? This just like a child's game. Fork coin is not worth anymore. Stop invest in the fork coin. Look at ignis and how many people got scammed to buy nxt at peak to earn that shit ignis coin. Participate to earn fork coin just like a competition to dump all of your primary asset asap after snapshot has been taken.

I'm sure the one who forks is going to make their own profit, just like the Bitcoin forks. I believe most of them will result the same as the Bitcoin forked coins. And it does not close the possibility, the litecoin fork will keep popping out just like the Bitcoin fork. We could hear Litecoin gold, Litecoin cash, and etc soon.

On this example we can see that forks today use just for speculation and scam. I believe that only the first fork of Bitcoin on August of 2017 is truly one.
Thanks for the article it is really helpful. I hope a lot of people will see it while it is not too late.

LOL there is no LITECOIN fork, charlie lee already announced that there will be no fork for litecoin. You probably joining scams you need to do a lot of research for you not to get scam.Litepay isnt a fork but is is an upgrade to Litecoin's network that will enable these vendors to use litecoin as their cryptocurrency just like bitpay has.

These articles are just another way to steal your money.
Litecoin does not need forks.
He and so fast transactions and the network does not brake.

Yes, and Bitcoin already has a bunch of useless copies.
From which more harm than good.

Hello! Voluntary donations that will go towards the development of my coin.

Well.. First of all I totally agree that the fork is not necessary and does not bring any notable improvements. Using sha256 is an attempt to get some older asics back into the game in my opinion.. This could ensure that LCC will have enough miners to enable reasonable confirmation times.
However calling the fork a scam is a bid harsh.. How is creating a fork from an open source project a scam? The fork might not be supported by Charlie Lee but that does not make it a scam.

About OP questions:
As far as I know no major wallet fully supporting LCC has been announced yet. If anyone knows more please give us a heads up. Creating a compromised wallet to see where LCC goes surely is not such a bad idea Wink

that is not that helpful, it is the general security information that you should already have when using a cryptocurrency regarding your private keys,...

helpful thing would have been saying how to actually claim the forked coin! meaning a proper explanation of step 4.
so far there is no source code for litecoin cash!
there is no light client like bitcoin cash had for claiming the airdrop!
and it is a shady project at best!

Which Litecoin wallet is the best for this?

the best wallet is either Litecoin core (which is a full node) or Electrum-ltc (which is an SPV wallet).
the best option is probably to keep LTC on an exchange which will credit you the airdrop (ltc cash)

There is no Litecoin fork because the fork dev was never a part of the team of litecoin and has no consensus. Even Charlie Lee the dev of litecoin  discredit the fork and said hat there are no Litecoin fork. This fork is just a pure scam and that is the only purpose i think of.
