A coin based on joke is no competition for bitcoin. Look into the history of Doge and you will see that it was a joke coin from a popular meme.

One reason could be that it's a Meme Coin. But it became pretty serious business back in 2014.
Imho Dogecoin is not taken seriously is because it's an inflationary coin. The supply is not limited and each block still brings 10k new DOGE into circulation.

Dogecoin is wonderful for learning, but its value means less and less every day. And in this business, if there's no money involved, it's not serious.

The obvious reason would be because bitcoin it is the first digital currency ever made.  All existing and emerging cryptos are based on bitcoin   Its prices are likewise based on bitcoin.  So obviously since bitcoin is well known compared to dogecoin, investors will choose bitcoin.

Not me. Bitcoin is the idea, alt-coins are variations of the idea. Mostly they are scams to fix bitcoin's big problem. The problem being that the developer does not have your money. So if you can't compete with fair money (bitcoin), then change the rules and make an alt that favors you.

When compared to the dogecoin, bitcoin being the first digital currency ever made would be a lousy line of reasoning in my opinion. Have you ever taken a look at the circulating supply of dogecoin that is in billions while the total supply of bitcoin is a mere 21million ever to be minted? You think supply doesn't count in determining the value of a coin? It does, of course. Wait until something is added to the total bitcoin supply and you will see how it will plunge like BCC did from a height if $360+ to $15+  as soon as its ponzi game was over.

Is this a joke? While Dogecoin community is more friendly (and funny), they don't have any clear roadmap or plans for their future development which means most cryptocurrency will beat Dogecoin in technology which means Dogecoin won't have any advantage in future.

So, joke coins without development can't be taken seriously.

Mainly the reason why dogecoins did not grow for the past few years, it has no clear roadmap and development plans for the future. So nobody would invest in it, so it cannot be compared with bitcoin

Knowing that bitcoin is known than dodgecoin is not really a big deal. It is just a matter of choice where you choose to invest and of course referring to its valur. To be honest, I don't even know what dodgecoin is. Bitcoin is known through out the years and I guess accounted for being the pioneer cryptocurrency.

Website hasn't been updated for over 3 years, the website is not secured, the maker of it is a joke, there are billions of it circulating, there is no developement team behind, the last commit on GitHub was 2 months ago and before that, twoo years, even.

The only hope the coin had was Exodus, and they removed it from their wallet...

You're not right. It's enough to look at price charts. Despite factors that you mentioned, Dogecoin price are going up slowly. Just look how much Doge price increased within a year.

Bitcoin has a limited supply which makes bitcoin valuable while dogecoin has unlimited supply that makes it's value down.
