Even in the event that an attacker gains more than 50% of the network's computational power, only transactions sent by the attacker could be reversed or double-spent. The network would not be destroyed.

It is impossible to know who owns a specific address unless the owner declare it. If you have a blockchain wallet (this is an online wallet) you can write your name to your address in order other people know who you are.
You are not committed to doing it, so the majority doesn't.
For example this address:

https://blockchain.info/address/1andreas3batLhQa2FawWjeyjCqyBzypd

belongs to the known entrepreneur Andreas Antonopoulos.
The address you're giving has not any information, so you can't find the owner.

Are you sure It's a faucet? Your address is related to the wallet 000b1a54fc according to Walletexplorer which is associated with Bittrex (an exchange).

You can check outgoing transactions from the wallet probably and see if any of the recent ones were used as sign ups?

I am not sure that walletexplorer is very accurate. It claims that my address (1TarasQyKwPJRuod6qwh7n8BjMHC49ZNY) belongs to MtGox... I've never even used MtGox.

You might have a confirmation from the faucet site saying that your payment has been sent or so. And there might definitely be a history of the transactions made on the faucet sites. So just look for that. And if you don't find any history then at least you might know that it's not from faucet sites.
