Just curious what everyone is now choosing to value a Bitcoins worth (USD)?

http://MtGox.com

http://bitcoinaverage.com

http://bitaverage.com

http://www.coindesk.com/price/ (BPI)

Other exchange or any other suggestions?

My valuation is internal.  I don't look to authorities to define it for me.  However, the price others value it at does factor in.  For that, I mostly watch MtGox and BitStamp since I'm most interested in BTC's relationship to the dollar.

I am surprised Coinbase didn't make your cut. That's what a majority of people, at least in the US, would prefer because it is very liquid and easily convertible between BTC and USD.

But the magical $ value you see in your mt.Gox account after selling BTC is worth $0 effectively, if you cannot take delivery of it. (i.e. wire transfer to your own bank account)

Who cares if the other person isn't willing to demand use of a functional exchange for pricing?

Bitstamp for valuing when buying and in figuring out how much I have, Gox if anyone's enough of a sucker to take it when I'm selling.

Interesting poll, with currently 23 votes for bitstamp and 20 votes for mtgox, eventhough bitstamp is last selection, confirms gox lost it's lead.

edit: maybe that is why bitcoinwatch.com does not show bitstamp volume anymore? the gox boys trying to obfuscate the ugly truth that bitstamp is overtaking?

Virtex

I didn't add them to the poll because its not USD (CAN).  But thanks for the submission, I am sure others are interested in it.

I'll be honest, I didn't know what an SLL was but I have now researched your suggestion.  I am going to leave it off the poll because it is a little bit different trading SLL/USD/BTC.  Glad you posted this however because I did not know of this site.
