Hey,
i would like to use namecoin and .bit domains.

I've downloaded the Namecoin-QT Wallet to register domains.

Where can I get a price list for new domains?

The paid namecoins for a domain, who will receive that payment?

Can I host a dns server for namecoins? Will I receive Namecoins for hosting a dns server?

new names (and domains) will cost you from 0.015 to 0.02 each...

you don't really need to know this, but this is the explanation: http://dot-bit.org/HowToRegisterAndConfigureBitDomains

0.01 will be locked into your name.. your name is a "locked coin".. anything extra is a standard transaction fee which goes to miners..
maybe in the future we can "release" locked coins, maybe not..

you can.. but you won't receive anything unless people donate.

Is there a tutorial or something like that for linux (especially debian)?

Hi there,

Do you know how I can contact anyone who looks after:

http://register.dot-bit.org/

I used that service to register a .bit domain name on 20th September, or so I thought, but I didn't hear anything back and I emailed them at:

register@dot-bit.org

It's been over ten days and I've heard nothing. I've checked the name that I registered and it's now listed as 'name already exists', so I'm hoping that that is actually my .bit domain that has been registered but I have no way of accessing it or contacting anyone in relation to it. I paid in BTC and obviously have the full transaction ID available so I can prove that the coins were sent and received.

I'm hunting around this forum and feel confident that I'll eventually find someone who can help.

Hope you don't mind me replying to your topic.

Any ideas?

Thanks a lot.

Smiley

I created now my own DNS Server and working on a registrar. If you still want a bit domain, just PM me.
I will release my service in a few days.
