I dont really understand why we need master nodes. satoshi didnt want master nodes? It was all about 1 CPU 1 Vote. I see master nodes take our rewards. Sometimes %50. How is that not like getting taxes %50 for your pay. Then if you live in america you have to pay 35% tax when cashing out, then electricity and hardware cost, we are really making pennies because of the nodes. most times they end up being scams

Yep the new scam is fork a masternode coin with a premine, run a pre-sale of the masternodes, dump the premine the second it gets listed on a shit exchange, then rinse and repeat.

If you think big picture, masternodes are fixing the market. You get rewarded for agreeing to hold coins making the coin seem more stable. Not much different than proof of stake.

Masternodes serve a purpose if the coin is actually privacy oriented.  The problem now though is like Vann said, create a new coin that provides nothing of value and sell masternodes.  I pretty much refuse to mine Neoscrypt coins because they are all masternode scams at this point,  If you look at the top 200 coins by marketcap there is a single coin that uses Neoscrypt:  Feathercoin.

I was about to reply, who used Masternodes these days and then I looked at when the topic was created and it all made sense.

Back in 2018 and year prior, people went crazy over masternodes because of Dashcoin. Then we got tons of forks of these coins and many of them are -100% by now. I remember how much hype they got back then. Now you never heard of masternodes.

NEOXA master node - (GAMING AND ADVERTISING)
get paid as people play GTA and FORTNITE and several other games.

GALA MUSIC AND FILM node - (MUSIC AND FILM)
get paid for music and films attached to your node. node holders split
royalties with artist and song holders.

So nodes arent the problem. people chasing scams in hopes of getting
rich quick seems to be.

thats true

I was thinking I might need a node based system based on dedicated servers, get paid to host the servers in a certain region.

does the node based system know how long you are online? I need to reward the dedicated servers hosting with the most uptime and or players
