CRYPTOCURRENCIES should be “destroyed” by the US Government because they are a “poison”, a billionaire investor who was the deputy to Warren Buffett has declared.

Charlie Munger, 94-years-old, is an extremely successful Chairman of the Daily Journal Corporation, but he criticised the digital currencies while addressing a crowd during a two-hour meeting in downtown LA.

In answering a question from an eager listener he criticised the increasing interest in cryptocurrencies as stupid.

All the time Bitcoin is being portrayed as a speculative asset and nothing else, this is going to be the standard reaction from most people, not just nonagenarians who probably haven't grasped the concept fully.  Some of the mindless speculation could indeed be described as asinine, even by those in the community.  This isn't a get-rich-quick scheme but I can see why people on the outside tend to perceive it as one.  The media certainly don't help, but even people here on the forum seem to need reminding periodically that the intended purpose of Bitcoin is not to sell your coins for more fiat.  It's to get out of fiat and never look back, while creating a debt-free and fairer economy where banks are completely powerless to make a mess of it.

I truly believe that this is one of the keys, in this era, where people seem to believe in everything they see on television or the news, there is a true misinformation about bitcoin, let's hope that this is only an obstacle that will be resolved soon and people awakens their minds ...

Anyway, what really seems to be totally destroyed is the brain of this Warren Buffett guy, if you think that the US government must destroy the bitcoin, then, seems that he does not understand nothing about how Bitcoin works, so the rest of his comments do not make sense to me.

You know what's funny about all these anti Bitcoin fools? It's the fact that they can ignore Bitcoin completely if they want, but instead, they keep speaking out about how they don't like Bitcoin, how it will never work, how it's not a currency, etc. If I don't like something, I just ignore it and don't waste any of my time on it, that's how you take care of things you don't like. If you keep allocating your time to something that you don't like, it either means that you're a sore loser because you missed out, or you like it, but don't dare to openly admit that due to your background connections. But hey, people all have the right to speak out at the end of the day. I too. I want this STUPID governmental system destroyed, and the banking system too - the sooner the better.
